I 'member. The jewish surname ending with -stein had me flummoxed as a wee lad because I didn't know whether it was pronounced "stine" or "steen" and it bugged the living shit out of me.

It's complete shit. I read those books all the time as a kid. I specifically remembered thinking why they were spelled stein and pronounced stain.
