I suspect your mouse or keyboard is broken. Particularly if either of them has bloated drivers that let you remap keys and create macros and things like that. My son had a Razor keyboard that started to fail and would routinely make random false mouse inputs. You could try reinstalling drivers but I'd replace both devices with the most featureless and low powered most generic keyboard and mouse that you can find just to rule it out.
There are a number of other things it could be, but if your mouse is failing or has a short, depending on the nature of the failure, sometimes movements and clicks that initially failed to go through can build up and then come through all at once when the problem is cleared up.
Wish I had more but that's what comes to mind initially.
I concur. My mouse started doing random double clicks. I reinstalled the drivers, removed duplicate drivers (that kept coming back on reboot), then like an idiot I reinstalled the OS. The whole time it was a hardware problem. My mouse just started sending out bad signals.
I've been doing desktop tech support for over three decades now. I've read hundreds of help desk tickets. This is far from the strangest one, but...something here isn't adding up. The first thing that came to my mind was terminal services, and someone is screwing with you. However, if I understand correctly, you have a plain old usb mouse, and you're holding the plug in your hand and random keystrokes are happening? Try turning the keyboard upside down and shaking the crumbs out.

FYI, if my grammar looks retarded there it's because of how frustrating this computer is right now. You try writing something while your computer is randomly selecting words and deleting them. So I'm going to leave that text fucked just so you know the absurdity I'm going through right now.
On the desktop, press the Windows + R keys and type: shutdown.exe / r / o / t 0, click OK, click Troubleshooting> Advanced Options> Startup Settings> Restart and when the options for initialization press the number 4 or F4 function key, test the mouse.
If you have trust issues google shutdown.exe / r / o / t 0
I suspect drug use. lol j/k, I don't know about the spooky action at a distance, but I would probably agree with the general consensus that the hardware has some sort of internal failure.
