While that may be true, the Spanish invaders demonized the Injuns, and exaggerated how 'evil' they were to justify their rape and pillage of central/south America. The descendants of the conquistadores now run everything, and have light skin.
It all comes down to the best men winning. If the American Indians had been blessed with superior intelligence, technology and weaponry (and horses), they would have sailed to Europe and conquered Eurasia. Humans are a violent and competitive species.
