The key words there are "free speech". Those forums are literally the only places right wingers can go and actually voice their opinions without getting banned or their comments deleted. If the lefties can't bully the right wingers off the forum, they tend to go to one of the many other leftie forums around.

I'm willing to bet that if you were talking about a forum in general, that wasn't about a subject that mostly appeals to right wingers, the opposite would likely be true. It would become yet another leftie forum.

And conspiracy sites probably attract more right wing types than left, so I reckon that as a test case would be slightly biased towards the right.

Same happened to our forum. We tried free speech and it became strictly political. We had to ban all talk of politics to get back to main subject matter. And made a no woke shit rule.
