My thoughts exactly.

nVidia has historically made good silicon and ARM seems efficient at handling modern workloads.

Seems like a win to me.

Computer code built for x86 chips will not automatically run on Arm-based designs, and the transition could pose challenges.

Sounds like a good time to familiarize oneself with Linux.

This isn't something software can override...architecture implies how the system stores and retrieves memory and processes tasks.

Take a Corvette engine and transmission and try to shove it in a Dodge van...it won't work, but if it somehow does, it likely won't live long.

I've been Linux only since forever. I currently use Bottles flatpak to run windows apps. Almost no issues.

The best option would be using a virtual machine to run older software. Not great, but the software would function.

However, any existing version of Microsoft would not function...no idea if they're already working on one.
