Actually went pretty smooth... A new troubled 16 year old blonde blue eyed kid shook my hand on the way out... Actually, I caught him smoking pot, we each started smoking about the same time (he quit for 20 years)... We had some good times together. He's been sober a while now... I've done pretty much every drug, but drinking took to me heavy sometime mid to late 20s (same with him)... Before that, even though I partied a lot in the music scene, id drink only socially, sometimes not at all at parties, then it became my thing.

in my case my dad only smoked cigarettes from which he got lung cancer from it. but he quit smoking when my sisters asked him to do so. i could talk to them about anything but they didnt accept any bullshit from me. my mother was vicious at times when she punished me. my dad only did it twice in his life. yeah they were old school when it came to corporal punishment.
well, it worked for me and my siblings because we dont do drugs or anything like that and my younger sister was allowed to get a tattoo when she was older than 21.

And for some it would be staying away from marijuana, and for some it would be staying away from some kind of pills. I never had a problem with pills or opiates, either. So if I need some opiates after surgery, I can fuckin take 'em.
Oh and sometimes I smoke weed. That was my point. People will judge that, and I think "California Sober" is dumb as shit. It's not sober, but few people really are. You can be sober from the shit that you used to be addicted to. Dunno what you call that.
