I like fantasy. If you do too check out, The Name of the Wind or The Way of Kings. Both great books with sequels.

I do enjoy fantasy. I have been reading self held books lately but I'll check em out, what are they about

The way of kings is the start of a vast and detailed story. The scope of the story encompasses several characters. The premise is, the god Honor has been slain by the god Odium. Everything is sort of Arthurian but there is power armor, but it's losttech and powered by mystical energy called Stormlight. Sounds wacky, but by halfway through (the books are massive) The Way of Kings I thought I'd found my new favorite author in Brandon Sanderson. He can be very poetic while keeping the story moving.

Some of my friends complain about character swapping and flashback chapters. But it is necessary to understand the decisions and complications the characters face.

Mistborn is a complete series by Sanderson with similar vibes. It is a complete series but don't go reading into anything if you want some amazing twists that really blew my mind. Don't even read or watch yt videos. Just grab either the way of kings or Mistborn and begin. Three books in Mistborn. These three books are about 1.5 Stormlight books.

Edit- Sorry for that word salad I'm exhausted.

The Way of Kings

Some of our older kids have read the series and really enjoyed it.

I'm waiting for the last volume to be published (late 23/ear;y 24) before I begin.

Even though Patrick has yet to release the final novel (12 years we've been waiting) he is working on it he says. I would bet that he'll finish it before he dies. He is the best fantasy writer I've read. Sanderson writes way more, jordan and Tolkien are great too but Rothfuss nailed it. The first book he wrote was The Name of the Wind and as far as I know (without looking it up) it's been the only story he works on.

Doing it right on the first try is pretty respectable!

Name of the Wind. Fantastic writing.

Rothfuss still has to release the last book of this series, although he has written side stories. Don't let that stop you from enjoying it.

Gateways to Abomination was a good October read if you like surreal absurdist horror.

What's it about

It's a lesson on politics and leadership embedded inside a fantasy story about a 500 year old guy chasing immortality.
