Political sites generally see their most active period during the year prior to an election. The Trump era was a bit of an aberration as the sensationalism of everything was dialed up to 11 and some people may be feeling a burnout on politics in the aftermath of the 2020 election theft and the growing understanding on the alt/dissident right that Trump was controlled opposition and there is no political solution. Now that we all know that the news is more bullshit than truth, there's less of a need to discuss and respond to the news of the day.
Here, I have noticed that there seems to be an ongoing effort to increase the noise-to-signal ratio here with meaningless anon posts that serve no purpose being in the anon sub, as though we aren't already anonymous to some degree, it's not like we have to enter an e-mail or phone number.
The anon posts look to emulate others' posting habits too, I think to foster contention and to attempt to obfuscate who is doing it.
Then there's the forum sliding and IDF interaction posts from Conspirologist, and root, and the anti-Christ posts of Master_Foo, NukeAmerica and johnsmith315, it's a smattering of complete bullshit on the new feed.
All of that is in the midst of the slow down you are commenting on.
I believe it to be intentional, of course, in order to do what kikes and feds and simply terrible people do best, infiltrate, subvert and shit on the table.
It's not just here. It's happening with normie sites. I've visited those a bit more than usual lately, and while they are active, everything on them, and even here, is pointless and on an endless treadmill of the same shit.
I think bots and power users alike have sought out the cheapest and most repeatable ways to get an upvote. There are no new memes, and no body makes anything unique. A suppose creative internet is on a scale/spectrum and has been moving toward less creative over time.
First people made whole websites and it was normal thing for anyone to do. Then that died down but anyone could post games to the internet that were playable in the browser (flash). Then that died. Then people made memes and those were creative, but new memes stopped. And now there is just a silo'd internet of "I love current thing" or "I hate current thing" posts. Nothing wrong with hating the current thing shoved down your throat but if that's all we got then the internet is dead.
Is 4chan really right of center? Maybe pol is, but I encourage people to actually take a look at 4chan, the most degenerate place on Earth. I'm all for free speech but the meme of it being this ultra-right hyper-trad site that all other trad sites wish they could be is pretty far from reality.
It's easy to forget there's a lot more to 4chan than just /pol/. For example, they still have entire channels devoted to My Little Pony porn and "ecchi" (by the looks, just a thinly veiled excuse for drawings of overtly sexualized minors).
I'm not up-to-date on weeb, but isn't there several terms for minors? I've never heard "ecchi" used for minors. This was like 15 years ago, so maybe it's changed.
Ecchi just means something perverted. There is no word for minors. Prepubescent girls are called lolis and the pervs who are into that are called lolicons.
Conpro is ok, good content, few pro-fag/like types, gab is good, but it's not the same, more like X and telegram is ok, good memes and such, but again, similar to Gab.

Don't get me wrong, I get the whole free speech thing, but let's be real – Reddit has more users, better moderation, and way more memes. Plus, we all know that /r/The_Donald was the real MAGA hub anyway. So, let's go back to where it all started, huh?
Better moderation is not a positive. Walking on egg shells to say anything is not anyone's idea of fun. It would be nice to build a layer on top of reddit where it includes all content from reddit, but has its own voting, and comments go to it instead of reddit. I should build that.
