I’ve never sent a text in my life. If you want to talk to me, you have to call my land line where you will be recorded on a reel to reel tape machine from the 70’s, the one with the wood paneling and big clunky knobs. Once every few weeks, I’ll listen to it. If your message is compelling, I will call you back someday and then you can tell me what was so important from three or more weeks ago. It’s never as important as they think.

The next time you're sitting at a stop light and oncoming traffic starts moving, count the number of people looking up then down at their lap. They hide the phone in their lap because texting and driving is illegal, but the way they're doing it is worse than if they had it in front of them where they could partially see the road. It's usually at least 1 in 6 people doing it, but sometimes 1 in 3, mostly women.

I've been rear ended at stop lights twice in the last 8 years because of texters (both women) and one of my best friends was in a wheel chair for years when a texter hit them head on.
