I love the city walk videos. That being said, china is so hypocritically desperate to become western. What you see is the city center, designed to be welcoming to western 'investors'. When you move a business to china, they will take you out to the city center and show you how wonderful china is.

What you are not seeing is the massive police state lurking behind every corner, the facial recognition systems that are ubiquitous in chinese cities, and the tight control over the movement and gathering of all individuals.

It is a false, sterile, world in china. Right now, american cities are turning into violent shit holes (for a couple obvious reasons). Remove the chicom boot from everyone neck in cities like the one shown, and it would be a pretty cool place.

For the communism lovers on this board: Do you think you are looking at a communist city here????

the "police state" shit is a western meme. I think the US/EU (in particular EU/canada) is probably worse in terms of surveillance and limits now. The only saving grace is that our overlords are deeply incompetent and so many of their attempts to control are ham-fisted.

You're right that the Chinese are copying Western cities. It's the image of "development" that they have and their goal is to meet/exceed the West, first of all. They're hitting that level now. I posted another video of a museum village recently that is an example of China doing it's own thing. They're a lot smarter than Americans want to believe - their entire development program is methodical and has real goals in mind, which is why it is getting results. I share these foreign videos to help people here understand what the "other side" of the world is like because that is increasingly being hidden from them. The great majority of Americans have no idea that Chinese cities are just as developed as American ones and that the quality of life is very high for people there. They have money to spend and go out to eat, shopping, buy fancy mobile phones, subscription services for music and movies, vacation travel, etc etc.

The bullshit you are repeating is not fooling anyone who matters - all you're going to accomplish is to retain the dimmest of bulbs while boosting the motivation of the cream to leave. Great job, genius.

Passive aggressive much? I have been there. I have seen first hand. If you even try to verbally express an opinion, you are told to be quiet by those around you, because they live in fear. Every building you show is ultimately owned by the chinese government who will take it back at any time.

The people in china have no power to change what is around them. Their cities are like neatly a neatly set up hamster cage. Meanwhile 50 miles in any direction, you have dirt poor peasants who subsist on nothing, and factory workers who live on a compound and are penalized for mistakes by docking pay.

lmao imagine thinking anyone believes this. if you were in China and this was your actual experience I'd guess you were there with some globohomo corp, an NGO or the US State Dept.

Imagine being so naive. It is a surveillance state of the likes no one has ever imagined. You must be incredible naive or trusting.

The way you write and use language reveals far more about you than you appear to realize. You're fooling no one worth fooling.
