Literlaly nothing works on the M1 or M2, packages run into processor problems, stuff fails to install, installed packages have half missing crap in it. It's a complete nightmare to do any dev stuff on a macbook

I disagree. I wouldn't touch a Windows machine for dev. I only use Macs and all the engineers I have ever worked with also, only use Macs.
