I got in touch with network and they said that i have a dynamic Ip. I know the difference between static and dynamic. But my question is how do i go abouts changing my Ip so that i no longer get banned from the game when creating a new account. Also no its not a HWID problem.

If you are certain it is an IP issue, and not mac address / location / configuration, then try a VPN.

MAC addresses aren't routable - that is, the only MAC address that the game service would be able to see from the network connection is the MAC address of the closest router on their end, and the connection will pass through tons of routers so that's not really an issue. Still, the game client running on your computer could get your MAC address and send it to them or leave other identifying info on your system that doesn't get uninstalled. Tough to say, but it doesn't hurt to start with the IP. You can always get a new one eventually.

I notice every so often my IP changes. I was wondering if its possible I can make a change on my end. Also confident it's an IP lock because when I tried making a new account it says someone on this IP has been locked and gives me a range lock. Now if there was a way to change my IP on my own rather waiting for a spontaneous change then I can make a new account immediately. Question is how can I do that? I will try later powering off the modem and router and see if that works. But surely there is a easier method?

Well, in the scope of your own local network there are ways to request a new local IP but that doesn't help with your situation. You can try doing what someone else in the thread suggested and remote in to your modem, usually done by putting the local IP of your modem in the address bar of a web browser and logging in. Once there, you can see what options there are. It's possible but unlikely there's a button to renew the IP you get from your ISP, but there might be some kind of disconnect/reconnect functionality. It's hard to say because it varies by hardware vendor or even by model with the same vendor.

Edited to add: Or, now that I think about it, there's almost certainly an option to restart the modem. It wouldn't be much different than unplugging it, but you wouldn't have to move the shelf.

They said I'm IP locked. And when making a new account it gave me a range locked because it said someone on this IP was banned.

If you mean to say they blocked a range of IPs to deal with you - that seems pretty severe. It also might make things more difficult for you in that even if you do manage to get another IP issued from your ISP, it is likely (though not guaranteed) to fall within the range that they blocked. In that case, a VPN would be the only way to deal with it.

This is the message I get:

You are locked because you have the same IP as banned user: #rangelock. Your lock will expire in a few days. If you wish to appeal your punished or wish to appeal otherwise appeal, you can appeal your punishment.

not that it matters because the initial account was IP permalocked. So even if I wait a few days the new accounts will just keep locking.

That sounds like it means they blocked a range of IP addresses. I would expect that to mean they just blocked the entire /24 subnet, so for example if your IP address is 111.222.33.44 then they will block the entire 111.222.33.x range. So if you do get a new IP from your ISP (for example, 111.222.33.45) and it still falls within that range that was blocked, you'd still be out of luck. If you got an address outside of the range they blocked (maybe 111.222.34.56) then you'd be all good. We can only guess at the range they blocked though, and we can only guess at how big of a range of addresses you can potentially get from your ISP.

This was very clear thank you. I'll try unplugging the modem when I get the chance and see if it changes my IP

Typically with most ISPs, the only thing you really have control over is to disconnect your internet connection and reconnect. Unplugging your modem for a bit should work. You might get issued a new ip, or they may well recognize your device and give you the same one because the lease hasn't expired. That sort of thing depends on how they have it configured on their end. Use something like ipgoat.com to check your internet-facing IP before and after to see if it changed or not.

Also you probably can remote into your modem with a computer. You’ll have access to everything that they can see. The ID and password are probably printed right on the modem. Change that password is step one.

Looks like it's time for you to give up on your My Little Pony Online account for good.
