Decent email service?

Trying to stay away from Google, Yahoo, MS, etc. Just need something basic to sign up for shit without having to give them my phone #, cc#, photo id, mother's maiden name, work history, last 3 paychecks, stool sample, or DNA.

Edit: and no, I'm not talking about the temporary ones either.

It is, and contrary to popular belief, you don't need to give a phone or email to sign up. It gives you the option for recovery but also the option to skip it. That'd be the way I'd go for free anonymous email.

Damn, I wish I hadn't read that email but I'm awfully glad I did! Thanks for that. I put some pretty sensitive data and passwords thru Protonmail. Well that really sucks! Do you know of a secure email?

Just tried that.

In order to prevent the creation of accounts by spam bots or human spammers, Proton Mail uses a variety of human verification methods. You may be asked to verify using either CAPTCHA, email, or SMS.

Oddly, it only ever wants email or phone.

setup your own email server if you want, you just need a PC that stays on all the time to accept email. It's really not that difficult. There are free domains you can use.

the problem with that is that your email will get bounced or not delivered with no notification to things like gmail

Email by its nature is not safe. As long as you realize that and you just want to get your direct mail away from the full-retard services, then I recommend Tutanota or Proton mail.

Both have co-operated with law enforcement and have turned info over, BTW.

A domain can be purchased for <$10/year and a hosted server can be had for <$5/month.

Secure email will cost you. None of the free services are safe. You’re gonna have to pay. But start with your mobile phone service. Use that to setup a free service. At least it will give you a layer.
