Some people are born without the ability to think in 3 dimensions. They see and think only 2 dimensions. Women tend to think that way. People who think in 3 dimensions tend to be intelligent and work in technical fields like engineering, design, aviation. Some people are just not capable of visualizing 3 dimensions in their minds eye and are limited to 2 dimensional thinking like flat earthers.
Ignores that traveling in one direction over a curved ball means you're not going in a strait line, but nosing down the entire time, or else you keep gaining elevation as the ground curves away from you.
Some people indeed do have problems thinking in 3 dimensions...
Yeah, that’s what I was trying to express. I’m not sure if 3D spatial awareness is a talent or a learned ability. But, it explains why males are better at video games than females. There is an innate ability in males to visualize 3D space. Some people lack that ability and think the earth is flat.

Someone help me. I'm not a flat-earther. I think flat-earthers are wrong, but I tend to enjoy any theory you want to throw at me. Interesting, is what I'll think. Now show me why you think that. Some flat-earther arguments are interesting. But they're wrong.
In this case, I'm not seeing why this should stump flat-earthers. On a flat-earth model, the trip in question cannot be done in a straight line. Okay. But if you project the path onto a spherical earth, it can be shown as a straight line. Also fine. But simply projecting the possibility that the trip could be made as a straight line IF the planet is a globe is not the same as showing that the planet IS in fact a globe. (Maybe there is something about the flat-earth model I don't know.)
Why does the projection logically entail that the earth is in fact a sphere? Did somebody show they made the trip without altering course or something? I mean, they have data that shows an actual vessel sailed an actually straight line across the actual globe? I might have missed that if it was shown.
I just keep thinking about the snarky comments: "Yeah, if you take a curved path in 2-D and map it onto a sphere, it can be straight. No shit. So why does that lead me to think the earth is a sphere?"

most engineers will openly admit it's flat behind closed doors
it's ok little one, you don't know anything but you think you do.
