Anyone like OP who recommends you upgrade your security and protect yourself by using a browser developed by Google, is not acting in good faith, and is definitely not in your best interest to follow said advice.
Privacy A research study analyzing the data reported by browsers to their back-end servers by Douglas J. Leith of the University of Dublin reported that Brave had the highest level of privacy of the browsers tested.[60]
To prevent browser fingerprinting, Brave uses fingerprint randomization,[61] which makes the browser look different to websites over browser restart. In 2023, researchers demonstrated bypassing of anti-fingerprinting protection in Brave and called for implementation of more robust countermeasures.[62]
On 15 October 2021, Brave announced a new privacy feature dubbed "debouncing". The new feature is designed to disarm bounce tracking, a method of Internet tracking through intermediary domains that load when users click on a link. Debouncing will automatically recognize when users are about to visit a known tracking domain and renavigates the user to their intended destination, skipping the tracking site altogether.[63][64]
A test conducted by a freelance journalist writing for Digital Trends found Brave to be the only mainstream browser to pass the Electronic Frontier Foundation's Cover Your Tracks test.[65]
In April 2022, Brave announced a de-AMP feature that bypasses Google's AMP system, directing the user straight to the original website instead. The company cited this as a privacy feature, calling AMP "harmful to users and to the Web at large". When this feature is activated, Yandex Turbo Pages, which are similar to AMP pages, are also bypassed.[66][67][68]
The bold text is specifically targeting Google Chrome... there are multiple other coded features that protect users from other tracking efforts not directly related to Chrome.
"While specific details regarding the flaws' exploitation remain unknown, it's suspected that they are all being leveraged to target individuals who are at an elevated risk, such as activists, dissidents, and journalists."
I could just block webp files, but these could be renamed to jpg or whatever... and Catbox has blocked this server when it was being ddos'd (which is why thumbnails arent being created) so I can't inspect these files if I wanted to.
I even, for a few minutes, warned voat.xyz users, until I got downvote brigaded by glowies here, and deleted my thread
you can trivially sniff header of each link, convert WebP locally to a private link to jpg, and ask user to HOST that new jpeg SOMEWHERE and try again, and that WebP possible exploits are banned.
protect users from the glowies, and people with my abilities.... ban WebP.
The post would have been better without a browser recommendation at the end. Other commenters explain why, and a few bolded lines from their eula can't extinguish all concerns.

Do me a favor. Search up “secure browser” on google. What’s the top result?
If you don’t know what that means from what you find from that search don’t post here anymore.
