Glad I canceled that shit about 6 months ago. For the small amount of TV I watch I use a site that lists the free streaming options and rates them. If 1 goes down, it comes off the list and the ones below move up.

If Hollywood was pumping out shitty woke bullshit it would be one thing. What bothers me the most is they’re taking amazing original stories and destroying them. It’s predictable and it pisses me off to no end. Ghost busters, Star Wars, scooby doo, lord of the rings, James Bond, Snow White, fuck man. I’m gonna cut my self off here cause it’s an endless list. They’re so obviously and purposefully perverting every single story that brought people joy over the years. It makes me sick. It makes my blood boil. It’s straight up perversion and demoralization. Frankly, the main benefit of paying for prime is about the shipping. The shipping is already heavily subsidized by your tax dollars. Why not pay the extra $10/mo to access the benefit?
Paying more just for the video streaming is a waste of time.
Except for the fact that whether you choose to pay the extra $10 or not, your taxes are still dedicated to subsidizing Amazon, and China, etc. It's basically the prisoners dilemma except you know ahead of time the other prisoners are making a deal.
And even if you found a local business with the product you are looking for, it probably can be traced back to these subsidized entities like Amazon or China anyway.
Thinking that not buying from Amazon would reduce the economy screw is like thinking not buying gas for your car would somehow lower the total amount of gas consumed by a population.
If you want to fix issues like Amazon and the free (subsidized) shipping that China gets, you need to fix that on a policy level, not at the end user level. The only way to fix it at an end user level is if everyone stood together, including the individuals that want to see the North American economies crumble. It will never happen.
It's like Teslas being subsidized by tax dollars. Even if you never buy one, your tax dollars are helping the rich buyers lower the amount they have to pay for their Tesla.
The big picture is disheartening to look at but out of the options for vendors of parts and tools, why would I burn gas to go to a brick and mortar place that takes the same parts from China and just adds a mark up?
I'm completely willing to change my mind on this, but buying things from Amazon and the like just seems to be the right choice. It's not even about convenience, it's about the ridiculous markup we see for the same parts that just happen to pass through a middleman.
