It was one of my first wake up calls that I would be utterly unprepared for that scenario, and also that in such a scenario, we'd have more to fear - in the immediate sense - from the unprepared masses. But that's the whole point of "too big to fail". The real Samson option, the endgame of all true parasites is coerced cooperativity. Make the masses rely on you to the extent that if they can no longer, they'll exterminate each other.

Yes, we are that fucked. I don't mean this as a blackpill. The option to better ourselves and to influence others exists for us everyday. But the fact is, the population of the world will continue to bitch and moan and still walk willingly into whatever is coming down the pike, because the alternative is not only frightful but seemingly so far out of reach that they'd rather eat ze bugs in a pod house than face utter self-reliance.

I just scanned through this and its pretty good. Especially the part about how people turn into dangerous, selfish animals during hard times. The takeaway is what we should keep stockpiles for trading, like medical alcohol, meds, cheap whiskey, lighters, propane, etc.. I've stocked this shit for many years.
