My mom has lived in a tiny home in Texas for 5 years. Hers is on wheels and 399 square feet. If it were one square foot bigger or on a foundation, then she would have to pay property taxes on it.

Everyone in her 55 or older community wanted to down size and they’re all well off, my mom washed up in a tiny home because she’s a fuck up. The wait list to get one of these things is two years. Folks that bought one in her community years ago for about 70k are selling them at 130k+. Tiny homes seem to be in high demand. Because they’re registered as RV’s, the sale is simple, unlike buying a home.

Even if I somewhat agree with the premise of the video, these "guys" are not the ones you want to promote the idea. To be honest, they are exactly who you don't want to because they are fuckheads.

Typical average everyday keep up with the jones, "my house iz beegur n' I gots gunz" chimptards who are too fucking stupid to know they're stupid.

The reason his parents bought a house in '85 for $100,000 on an acre was because we were in a recession, I remember it well. "Everyone" was moving to Texas because it was less affected due to the oil industy.

Again, these guys are retards, REALLY. I can tell by the words they use, attitude they have and how they carry themselves.

And I thought we paid a lot for our town house. I don't think we'll ever see prices as low as what we paid ever again.

When I was really young, having a small house in a meadow in the woods seemed pretty attractive.

It's starting to look attractive again as I get older. Especially if it was in an area that didn't get terribly cold.

Okay, instead of "double-wide" trailers, they make "double-high" trailers, with the front door on the end instead of the side, and without the wheels, so you can stuff more of them in per acre. Because that's what it looks like to me. A big two-story trailer park.

These look like they're well over 500 sq.ft, which is what used to be an okay-sized starter home half a century ago. Though there's no space to enlarge them on these lots.

Still better than an apartment where you can't play your stereo at a decent volume without someone banging on the ceiling.
