I have a kinda similar story. Worse in some ways, better in others.

I got remarried in 2019. My mother was invited. She told me to consider her dead, because I voted for, and supported Trump. I still asked a few times in the months leading us to it because she’s my mother, and I didn’t want to regret later, not extending every olive branch possible. I mean, what effect did he have on our daily lives, especially so much that it’s worth putting that over family?

She didn’t attend. Hasn’t spoken to me since then, and I haven’t tried, either.

The wedding was perfect. And probably would have been less so, if she went on some delusional Leftist rant to whoever would listen.

It sucks when it’s your own mother, but my life has been significantly less dramatic since I don’t have wacko leftists in it.
