Even if they all knew who they work for it would not change their behavior. Many are mentally unhinged and enjoy being able to cause harm and pain.
They are just smart enough to know that before they can act like a monster they typically need a "order" to let loose. So as to have a "get out of jail, card" and to ensure they get paid.
For a good example of this, think back to all the police violence all over the world that happened due to covid measures. Cops were breaking human rights and beating the shit out of anyone they could get near. All because the governments decided to rebrand the flu as a deadly pandemic.
The cops were so happy to beat people; also (in Canada at least) the general public managed to get access to the cops whatsapp conversations and they were happy to be causing harm and laughing at the thought that one of the police horses might have accidentally killed disabled protesters.
I’ve been arrested more times than I can remember, (back in my youth) and have done some time here and there and I can tell you, I’ve never had this kind of trouble with cops. Now, I’m not a huge fan of them, but I will say, the times they did their job better than I did mine, I just cuffed up and didn’t make a big thing out of it.
