As I mentioned in the based grilling salt thread, I was a regular old goat. Voat.co was my only internet home from 2015-ish through 2020. I joined with the original pizzagate migration and watched it deteriorate with the trumpers and qoomers.

If I’d have known this was back online I’d have been here day 1.

Looks like the audience is awfully small now by comparison… I’ll try to hangout more if I can find time.

I was also on old Voat for years and followed the migration, SearchVoat, new Voat, talklol, Upgoat
I looked up SearchVoat and there doesn't seem to be much activity anymore. It does have an archive of all posts and comments apparently stated. So the whole history of Voat is archived.
I also found Gab through Voat and made an account in 2016 but didn't use it until 2022 or 23
This place still has the old feel mostly but it's a pretty good source for news and some smart posts from smart people.
Until I recently started using Gab, this had become my only hangout. Kicked off Poal for calling AOU a fag, simply.
I used to catch CNBC, to see what the normies are fed(goyslop) until I couldn't watch anymore. Watched Newsmax till I saw how they tongue for israel when the bombs were falling. And those commercials for starving yentas jews refuse to feed with all their money so they shill judeochristians for sheckles.
Stopped that, stopped reading Breitbart, oy vey , stopped infowars , oy vey.
Now it's just this place, Gab and the HandsomeTruth chat during the stream.
I find good documentaries on goyimtv.com, sometimes Bitchute or Odysee
But this here Voat is still the best source that aggregates news and based wisdom.

I learned firsthand from Paul Kirk (founder of the KCBS) and Myron Mixon (winningest man in competitive bbq history) - use KC style on ribs/chicken. Texas Style on brisket/shoulder. Comp style if you brine or inject (no salt in it - you’ll still want to add a little salt to it so the exterior is “seasoned”)

I probably will. I also like to make my own rubs, with variations from very sweet (with a lot of brown sugar and some heat), to salty with some heat and sweetness. I mostly do smoking, either brisket or chuck steak, and sometimes ribs. I'm always open to new ideas and new flavors. Your breakdown on KC style, Texas style, and competitive style was enlightening.
