Ok,first off,counting calories is nice but you have to remember there are other reasons people are fat.

1. Processed foods. Often have chemicals in them that increase fat production,often at the expense of starving vital organs and muscles which leads to still feeling hungry which leads to over eating. They want you fat and in poor health. So what you eat is as important as how much you eat.

2. Allergies. With GMOs,allergies are more common. Eating things you're allergic to can cause your body to swell and make you look fat but it's actually swelling. Get tested for allergies and avoid foods you're allergic to.

3. Chemical imbalances. In addition to making you fat directly,there's a lot of shit that can fuck up your body chemistry and make you fat. So get that checked too.

So as you can see,there's much more to do besides just "eating less" if you want good health and a strong body.

That’s too simple for the fatties. Their brains are over complicated due to soybean oil saturation and processed food additives to the point they can’t think right.

Popular diets are popular because they help mitigate cravings. Hunger is largely tied to low blood sugar. Once the body starts burning fat, even dietary fat, hunger decreases and it becomes easier to eat less.

As @love420 mentioned, a lot of foods are poisoned. This exacerbates hunger. Only table salt has iodine, not anything manufactured. Iodine also escapes when cooked.

We are carnivore by design. Eat what God intended us to eat and you will never need to regulate calories or cravings again.

They need to get on Iodine supplementation first, that's the biggest reason for the bad cravings. Your normal table salt doesn't often provide enough, if it is even iodized.

This is what leads them to crave the salty fast-food and junk foods that are primarily salted with iodized salt.

They further this deficiency by putting bromine in the bread and fluoride in the water, both of which compete for iodine uptake because of their similar valence structure.

This is why you need to get fluoride-free toothpaste (it's cumulative) and put carbon filters on your shower and any other waters you might drink or use on your skin.
