Are adults and children affected differently? (I was surprised by this one myself)
...However no significant interaction effects were found between age group and cannabis use status. This indicates that the relationship between regular cannabis use and resting-state network functional connectivity is not different in adolescents and adults...
Does weed inhibit or promote brain connectivity? (More connections could slow the brain down, it could also allow new habits/thought patterns to be formed, better be mindful)
...But the researchers observed differences in connectivity within the executive control network, where cannabis users exhibited greater connectivity compared to controls...
What regions of the brain are affected by smoking pot? (Self-control, physical movement/control, memories of physical pain, ways of learning, localization, recognition, intensity encoding, physical perception, spacial perception, ego center, social cognition, and language)
...These differences in connectivity were localized to regions including the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex, motor cortex, middle and posterior insula, temporo-parietal junction, and superior temporal gyrus...
I think maybe your bias is showing?
How will you handle a study stating the opposite of your beliefs?
This study seems to suggest that while the brain function 'could' be slowed temporarily, your brain is rewiring new connections to bypass painful memories, dead areas of brain tissue, issues with physical control, etc. I guess the decision should still be up to the individual, and not the morality police like you.
I know other certain groups who like to control how others behave and what they can legally do to their own bodies...
People do drugs thinking it is what will complete them. This isn't the case at all, even with psychedelics.
If your a sack of shit before you smoke, the drugs won't change that.
If you are stupid before the drugs, you'll still be stupid during, and after.
I smoke pot from time to time, but I don't expect to become superman because of it, I expect to be less anxious and tense, which is what happens to me. I will admit that changing my focus while high is more challenging, but it's not impossible. I treat the drug like I would treat alcohol, there's a time and a place, and respecting the drug and it's effects on your body/mind is vital.
