It's funny we get it, but vegetable oil is actually perfectly fine as engine oil, it's how it first got started. It not good for eating as it turns out.

Not exactly, can't use virgin oils. Unless they have a special additives package added to them (like any oil), performance will suffer & damage will occur.

Take Castrol R for example, it's veggie based but far from being straight veggie oil.
