If your home internet has reasonable uptime, connect USB storage and set it up as your own file server you can access remotely (dumbasses call that a cloud now).

It'll also let you do web, mail, maybe VPN, most things which don't involve much CPU. Web is useful if you get a domain and figure out HTTPS with a auto renew script, others take a lot more reading to understand.

Fair enough. It's a slow PC you can use to browse the web, run torrents, or use as a router. It has GPIO pins you can use to turn stuff off and on. You can get a relay board and switch on/off appliances, pump water, etc. Some people are using them for drones. With a camera attached you can do a bit of computer vision that can be used for autonomous systems or for security.

Attach a GPS to it and let it get stolen and create a series to see where it goes.

You can also give it away as your time may be more valuable elsewhere.
