That would interfere with one's procreation. Your resources would go to another. So essentially that is against the word of God.

It's not about impregnating her. A man always needs to lead the household. In the event a man dies with no sons, then his brother becomes head of the household for the widow. Hence "and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her."
