I've experienced +100° temps in the Canadian Prairies, American West and Midwest, Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. I've baked in the "brown forests" of Costa Rica and blistered from the Caribbean sun but nothing beats up the body like high humid heat in the Great Lakes regions, Toronto probably being the worst.
But fuck me sideways, the last few days has been excruciatingly taxing on the body, even my bears are down for the count and don't want to eat. My big guy Brutus loves the concrete walkway underneath the garage overhang out of the heat and the wife has a large pail next to him filled with cool well water ...he's fucking spoiled and he knows it...I just hate when he flops his fat ass in front of the door and won't move until he's ready.
One of our other bears, Lashes, lost all 3 of her cubs to coyotes over the last 2 months and it's affecting her and the wife is bummed out so it's time to start culling them down again, they ain't shy and they're testy and my .17HMR is ready.
Since around the late 70s most people have lived and worked in environmentally controlled buildings. Does anybody make a car without air conditioning anymore? They are accustomed to a temp range of 68 to 74 degrees. They have never had to work outside all day (or night) no matter what the temp. was.
Tonight's forecast- Mostly clear, with a low around 53. North northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight. Wednesday Sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming west northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.
@Rowdybme...she was too young to have cubs in the first place but when a half dozen coyotes harass a bear with cubs that are only a bit bigger than a football they get separated and there's always one coyote watching for that right opportunity...even a mature bear can't defend her cubs from a pack of these pests.
I respect you even more now that you say you take coyotes with 17HMR. Yes, it's inherently accurate, but it doesn't impart much force at all; you must be ONE HELL of a confident and accurate shot to be taking them with that round.
Edit: I thought you liked one of those oddballs, wasn't it 264 Winmag or some weird shit like that? Sorry about Lashes' cubs. Don't recall you saying she had any. Can't believe coyotes would take them, but I'm much further south and don't know such things.
@MuricaPersonified...good recall, that weird caliber is my .270WSM, I'll punch clover leafs at 300yrds with 135grn poly tips with it, then there's my 22-250 Savage Laminate W/Thumbhole, I'll push a snake's eye through it's asshole at 200yrds...it's head at 3hundred...but thats overkill in my area, the clearest flight path I have is 150ft and with that .17 I'll center punch all day at 125yrds, my wife is deadly with it, she bangs off the brass collars of spent 12guage shells at 100yrds and they're about the dia of a 2bit piece and that's pretty good given that she's only been shooting for the time she's been with me (27years)...I'm a deadly shot, coyotes get ear clipped or a larger eyeball...and I especially love it at night with the light attachment, works well with the Leupold 15 3x9x40's reticle shape...but I'll tell you, fucking coyotes are evil, devious, opportunistic stalkers and wicked ambushers, I've no mercy for them or fucking coons, coons get the .22 short...and that's that.
@Clubetc...did I mention that somewhere or did you just throw that out there???...because I've had a brood here ever since I bought the place in 81, but that's sort of standard for a lot of people out here, fox are actually comfortable around humans, they're scavengers for the most part and they instinctively know that humans are a source of food, when they kill it's usually someone's chicken. I'm sitting outside right now and I'm expecting a fox to come by...I'm also armed with a Henry Golden Boy Lever action loaded with shorts, did I mention that I fucking hate coons?
Let me be perfectly clear...I have no use for the climate retards and the global warming hoax...this is nature...now imagine being off the grid...imagine what those poor bastards had to endure in the jewish BOLSHEVIK gulags...only a fucking jew finds pleasure in subjecting non jews to torturous misery.
The worst is in the tropics when it gets to maybe 100 or not even, but you have the 100% humidity. That is what (white) man cannot survive long term. Even with access to fresh water.
The ultimate worst I've experienced was out on the water near the Pedro Bank about 2hrs South of the St Elizabeth coast line off of Jamaica...wind beaten from the speed of the boat and salt saturated air, could not kill the thirst but well stocked with spring water, couldn't stop drinking but had to maintain, and no alcohol, STRANG VERBOTEN, but I am convinced that dehydration is an awful way to go.
this summer was incredibly mild. i think yall are pussies and are going to die on the next actually hot summer. i dont get it, the past few years have been much worse than this shit. ive been baking my balls off at least 5+ hours a day for the past couple decades. go touch some grass fags.
Depends where you are and how much rain you've had. In general, most of the country has been cooler. The southwest had very high desert temps and the southeast had average temps high humidity in areas with typical rainfall. Not pleasant at all in the latter, as usual, unless you're used to working outdoors in such conditions. The high humidity of the SE sucks every year, and unless you're a contractor or seasoned outdoorsman in the region, it's going to suck.
that is nothing compared with high humidity and heat of southern florida. down here it feels like we are breathing water or something. the high dewpoints which can get in to the high 70's to low 80's in summer months its just unbearable.
high humidity plus high dewpoints and temps in the late 80's and early 90's can make you feel it like 105-110.
really nasty. the good news is that by late october/early november temps tends to lower by a few degrees because the sun is low and fronts begin their down to the peninsula.
in reality our summer is almost 8 months long. we have winter/dry season with cooling or colder spells
Anything to the South of Florida is basically uninhabitable. The centralest part of central America is uninhabitable. The surroundings are only marginally more habitable.
You can do some stuff on the islands, with the wind. You can settle the coasts. The landmasses are just impenetrable.
dude a relative of mine told me that the weather down here is as oppressive as the weather in thailand. its just too tropical and humid. fuck that shit

European hot summer countries have had afternoon siestas for hundreds of years. Working in 45 degrees Celsius was bad

120 isn't the worst I've had, though.
