Thought I'd share this. I always enjoyed his stuff up to a point, even though I knew he was playing a role. Still a pretty good singer with some good songs. What's ironic is I was just watching a video of him the other day which discussed what a shrewd businessman he was, and how this drunken carribean image he cultivated was pretty much a myth.

He was a leftist piece of degenerate boomer trash, however, he had a few good songs. Most importantly, in the Fox News article, they state he had dealt with an ongoing medical issue since 2022. Gee, I wonder what could have caused that?

He is a pompous ass. My buddy lives on Stock Island has ran into him many, many times. Says he is arrogant and acts absolutely accosted and offended if you try to talk to him. If he went out, He would demand a bar close to the public so he and his entourage could drink. He was demanding and would order obtuse amounts of food and drinks, wasting most of it. He would run up $5-6K tabs and not leave a penny for tip because he would be arrogant drunk and thought everything was shitty (his mere presence with the common folk is plenty for a tip).. Supposedly he was quietly banned from several of the known bars on Duval specifically because of his antics.
I used to like his music, but living here in Florida it’s ALL YOU EVER FUCKING HEAR people play…..

With guys like Buffet, I always wonder how "Leftist" they really are, or if it's just an image. I don't think you get to the point of amassing billions of dollars without knowing at least something about how the world really works, or at least have enough smarts to hire the people who do. Buffet had more money than Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, and even Elton John, just to name a few. Buffet certainly could play the act.

I did too. I never listened to his music on purpose but had a group of friends who loved him and I would tag along because the shows were an absolute blast. We did the whole spiel—Hawaiian shirts & straw hats. One year it was so hot we lined the back of a pickup truck with tarp and filled it with water. Showed up in a pool. Excellent memories.

Kinda the same with me. I don't remember ever owning anything by him, but I had some college dorm buddies who did, and had a GF once who really dug him. If something by him came on the radio during a drive, I didn't immediantly change the channel, unlike with 99.999% of crap out for the past 25+ years.
