Ever since I heard Sonny Bono died in a skiing accident, I doubted the official story and through he was assassinated. Apparently many other people thought so too. Here is the story

It seems Bono was one of the few naive junior Representatives who thought doing the right thing wouldn't get him in trouble. This article mentions his questioning Janet Reno for her behavior and actions of the Waco genocide. This, and Bono's death happened during the Clinton administration, so there's that too. I don't know how people feel about Ted Gunderson, but in this case I think the story is credible.

He literally cried during the Congressional Inquiry into the ATF's and FBI's crimes committed during the assault, and mass incineration of victims within the Waco Compound.

Thanks for the link. I've seen "Waco: Rules of Engagement" (1997) more than a few times, and I always missed that brief shot of Sonny Bono listening to the witness's statement. If you're not aware of it, you might be interested in a second documentary called "Waco: New Revelations" (2000), that brings more information about the siege to light.

"Skiing accidents" must have been popular back then. Less than a week prior, Michael Kennedy, RFK's son, died in the same way.

I didn't. I was a teenager during the Church Committee hearings, where Jesse Helms was doing a "limited hangout", by admitting to some of the CIA's lesser crimes while withholding their more heinous crimes. A few years later, the Iranian Islamic Revolution happened, which was blowback from their earlier Operation Ajax, which plotted Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh's overthrow and reinstalled the Shah. My uncle was in Iran during the revolution and was unable to leave because he was an American citizen. His ancestry is full Dutch, so he was able to get an exit visa with the Dutch embassy to Amsterdam. I grew up teaching my sons not to trust the government EVER, using this as a personal example.

After he died, there was a huge surge in helmet sales for skiing and snowboarding.

I was thinking about this last year that his death was a pretext to scare people into buying equipment they don't really need. I don't bother with a helmet, but most people do.

True story: last year I overhead this NPC on the slopes complaining about people who weren't wearing helmets. LOL.

I think that was an unintended side effect, but most welcome to purveyors of ski equipment. I can't think of anything more idiotic than skiing with a helmet. You need full visibility and full mobility for your head. Any how many people does this happen to per year anyway?

Catching a snowboard's back edge can whip the back of your head into the surface at Mach fuck me. Boarders should probably wear helmets, they can get levered into the ground backwards in ways that are neigh impossible for skiers.

Wow. I read some of that and it seems I could certainly possible especially since a lot of what we know now about the drug running and all that stuff by officials was not known then. So it would have been something they would have sought to cover up more aggressivly

It was much more so during the Clinton administration since from his days as governor of Arkansas, he allowed planes from Central America filled with cocaine to land in Mena, AK, and he'd always arrive at the air strip to collect his tribute and wet his beak. GWH Bush controlled the flights, but begrudgingly allowed Clinton a slice of the pie for his cooperation.

It was well more than possible. This was all part of the Iran/Contra scandal. It was part of the story all histories leave out. This is confirmed by personal testimony in the documentary "The Clinton Chronicles". Remember his brother, Roger Clinton, was given a lengthy prison sentence for drug smuggling with intent to distribute.
