Dogs do it too. I knew a couple of vegan retards, years ago, who I dog sat for, and they fed their dogs vegan dog food. Their dogs would try to bury their "food" under the tile kitchen floor with this exact same behavior.

Ah yes. I’ve known many pits. Other breeds are much calmer. Excluding small breeds.
