Help a retarded woman

I need someone here to mansplain something to me. I mostly lurk here but recently have been unable to view any catbox links. I saw someone say it’s being blocked on purpose for political reasons. Is there a workaround for this? Give me step by step instructions please as I’m not techy at all. I need this stuff to keep me sane while I navigate raising children in this clown world.

Tech guy here. In brave I can view 50% of catbox videos, but the other 50% bring up the video with audio but black otherwise. If I download the video I can view no issue. Another browser works just fine on same network setup.

If you use proton vpn be sure to unchecked netshield which was giving me issues before.

I have not determined the difference between working mp4 and non-working mp4s. I was thinking encoding but the fact that I can download and view shows my phone has the required codec. Maybe brave issue.

Workaround for audio but no video is vlc media player. Paste the link as a stream and you don't have to download a file. Easy to turn off viewing history if you like to keep your device uncluttered.

This may be a simple case of DNS blocking. If so, you'll have to manually set your DNS for your PC/phone/tablet. Here is a list of available DNS servers (I recommend OpenDNS). Look for a guide to change your DNS for your specific device.

Try the DNS fix first. Reconnect your network, close and reopen your browser, and try again. Alternatively you could reboot.

If that doesn't fix your issue then your ISP could be blocking it with a firewall. In that case you might need a VPN.

But it only happens with around half of the videos. A non-working link on Chrome worked in the Epic browser, but I haven't updated Chrome and this just started happening recently. The mystery is why some work and some don't.

Here's the one that worked in the other browser.

Another option is to try the Opera browser. They have a free VPN built into the browser.

She might be on a public network at her workplace or a shared network in an apartment building. In such cases, there is nothing she can do other than use a VPN. If it's her own network, chances are that a service like OpenDNS is set up on her router (the DNS addresses are set manually to 208.67.222.220 and 208.67.222.220 or the advanced network settings for her wifi connection has them set manually. I imagine that someone else set up the router or the connection.

Find your network/wifi connection settings. In there is an option to set DNS manually, or to enter DNS into a box. Type these numbers:

1.1.1.1
8.8.8.8

They are standard, large DNS servers that don't go down.

After this, reconnect to your wifi and try again.

On those ones depending on the subject or poster I'll just download. Someone just suggested Opera browser and Dangus ha suggested the same so might just try that one from now on.

Yep, had an on and off light sprinkle for a few hours. It's incredibly unusual for rain in the summer, but I laid a couple trash bags over a few things. Not enough to make puddles or get the pavement 'wet'.

Install the Brave browser. Press Alt+Shif+N to open a tor-tab. Enter the address there. This way you can circumvent most of the network bans. If it still doesn't work, then the link is probably broken.

Does opening a tour tab setup a peer-to-peer connection? Is it private like a VPN so people can't see what you're doing? So if someone wanted to download something from say Pirate Bay could they do it through a tour tab and it would be invisible to the Wi-Fi network and or the service provider etc etc etc?

TOR is supposed to be a completely anonymous VPN, but using it extensively might rise suspicion because it attracts a lot of criminals and pedos. You also gain access to the "darknet", websites that are only available over TOR. If you want to download Jewish brainwashing material (also known as movies), you should use a normal VPN because TOR is much slower. I was having issues yesterday on my cellphone using brave and working fine on my computer also using brave. Today however its working normaly on both devices. Try reatarting your devices first and see if it continues.
