This is a cover story. The Ukrainians made a deal and the UK sent in their guy to let him know that if he made a deal with the Russians that the West would pull all support, and probably more.

Zelensky and the ukranians govt are crooks and have been asking for trouble for eight years. They're not impossible retarded, though, and understood that they had no chance in a war against Russia without full NATO support. They only way they don't take that deal in march 2022 is that NATO wouldn't let them. This would go a long way toward explaining their extreme entitlement in asking for weapons and money - it was the deal.
