People have a natural craving for religion that comes from their own blood, from their own soul.
Many are unfortunately expressing this through new age ideas that are more along the lines of PC friendly corrupted and "anything goes" versions of the original.
Probably because they're more accessable, and don't have the pesky racial element to them. But that's what is driving this trend. It's been going on since at least the 1960s in this form.
