Had an MD tell me once that, because of my high cholesterol diet, my arteries would harden and that I would soon begin to experience erectile dysfunction.
This was approximately 15 years ago, if memory serves.
To be honest a lot of this does probably come down to genetics. Perhaps some don't have the digestive system for it. I come from a long line of tough white men. Only the very elderly and obese have ever had health problems of any kind. Eating a diet high in protein and fat is working for me.
Best to get a Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography to make sure. It's 95% accurate when it determines you have no plaquing. Doctors use the erection thing just to scare people but it really is best to test.
What really comes after is a piece of that plaque breaks off, blocks your heart arteries feeding the heart muscle and that muscle starts rapidly dying. If the muscle dies too rapidly, the heart stops pumping correctly and you die. That's what a heart attack is and THAT is the real concern.
That test is about 1500 bucks without insurance from a cardiologist. Much cheaper with insurance.
Personally I think Linus Pauling was onto something about high dose vitamin C. So meat, low-glycemic veggies and 10,000 milligrams of vitamin C a day for me plus a lot of fish oil/sardines.
I take lots of Vit-C as well. What are the low glysemic veggies? is that the non starchy non sugar-makin ones? I cant eat fish, makes me sick but I like filet mignon just fine. Always looking for diet tips!
Yeah, basically any veggie that turns into glucose slowly rather than quickly so you're right on with them being non-starchy. Starchy vegetables rapidly turn into blood sugar although they are still MUCH better for you than table sugar which is damn near pure evil. Pauling recommends limiting that to at least half the sugar that's in the normal diet but probably should be much less.
I was in an O.R one late night and the surgeon was accessing the patient's descending aorta. As he cut into in the plaque that lined the vessel literally cracked. I kid you not. The guy's vessel was patent but it was loaded with hard plaque. OTOH, I've seen vessels the way God meant them to be, clear and pliant.

My doctor is fat as fuck and always talks to me about healthy eating (he knows I don't eat much other than meat) when I go in once every 3 years. I laugh and shake my head at him.

He is right if you are not getting exercise and eating a modern diet. Cardiologists with an ounce left of dignity will not mention cholesterol in your heart health if you are not overweight and living a minimally active lifestyle.

Gotcha. I just think EVERYONE should get a CCCTA. It's like a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Might as well get one of those every 5 years at least once you're in your late 30s. They literally cut out polyps before they turn cancerous.
It's good to have actual measurements of things whether you're vega, all meat, or meat and veggies like me.
Truth is no one really knows for certain. We do KNOW though that type 2 diabetes has the greatest correlation with heart disease and you don't get diabetes by eating meat.

Hahahahaha hahaha yeah you ain’t outliving me. You will probably end up with osteoporosis soon because of the menopause you are going through. I bet you don’t know you need protein for bones, not just calcium. In fact, if you study the bones you will see it’s mostly made of protein structures. Studies have shown vegan AND vegetarian retards are at >60% higher risk of fracturing bones. And you know at your age, a fracture could eventually lead to death.

The combination of high sugar and high fat is pretty bad. Most plant oils other than extra virgin olive oil are also pretty bad for you. Bread is also shit.
Green veggies and unprocessed animal products are the way to go.
This guy gets it. It's when cholesterol molecules get glycosylated that they become a problem (liver can't recognize and metabolize them properly anymore, increasing the chance of them sticking to arteries).

Yes, but only if your body needs more cholesterol.
The cells lining the small intestine each contain transporter molecules (NPC1L1) that absorb cholesterol. [The cholesterol-lowering drug Zetia® works by blocking NPC1L1 yet does not reduce risk of heart disease]. However, if the body doesn’t need any more cholesterol, there are other molecules (ABCG5/8 transporters) that pump the cholesterol right back out into the intestines to be eliminated from the body. This is one reason why it is virtually impossible for cholesterol from food to cause “high cholesterol.”
Imagine still being pissed about this conversation a week later.
How many prison "pen pals" do you have conjugal visits with?

Yes, and raw eggs activate the reverse cholesterol transport mechanism very effectively, 4-12 per day is what I'd recommend for that purpose. It's like having an extra liver temporarily.
What I've read is that natural fats are good for you, but if you also eat a lot of sugar you are worse off than eating sugar and no fat. There's also some research that sugar is the cause of arthritis.
Bodies need cholesterol to make all sorts of hormones and your brain needs it to function properly.
No arguments here but complex carbs and a little fruit are all you need. Paleo, not Keto, is the way to go. You can always use a little honey if you need it. Your body can also turn protein into glucose if it needs to.

Actually, it's cheap seed oils that replaced the good fats. It's cheap junk that somebody figured out could be extracted from all the seeds being thrown away associated with various plants like soy, cotton, etc. Often times this already junk oil is hydrogenated to some extent. Then it's used in frying (i.e. exposed to air while being hot so if any fat is left undamaged it can then be oxidized). The end result is a toxic poison that causes artery damage and inflammation in your body. The #1 food I recommend avoiding is commercial fried food. Fast food and fancy-shmancy restaurants are most likely using the same cheap crap for oil. Chik-Fil-A does have it a little better with peanut oil (a vegetable oil instead of seed), but it's still not good.
I laugh at government food recommendations like, "Who follows those?" I suppose some institutions do. The fact that they push grains so hard has me skeptical of grains. Now I listen to Peter Glidden from the J.D. Wallach camp. They say there are 12 bad foods. The most difficult to avoid on the list is wheat, oat, barley, and rye. The problem is not what you think. It's proteins like gluten that are difficult to digest and harmful to the intestines. The older you get, the more of a problem this becomes. It's not condemned for having starch. They actually recommend clean, natural corn and rice as alternatives. In some contexts even potatoes could work.

My grandfather told me that cholesterol plaques were the body's way of healing inflammation, kinda like how platelets are used to heal bleeding wounds on the surface of the skin.
Make sense that treating artery plaques would therefore only help someone temporarily, because the plaques are the symptoms of a disorder, not the cause, which appears to be inflammation from consuming grains, sugars, and heated vegetable and seed oils,

I read soemthing similar somewhere— that the cholesterol plaques we accumulate in our arteries are a protective adaptation that allowed damaged arteries to be strengthened but that as we age that accumulating plaque becomes a liability which doesnt much matter if we are talking about people over 50 or 60, who are no longer reproductive or highly productive in general.
Yes I agree the inflammation in the vascular tissue is a key part of the equation and perhaps can account for some accelerated cases of CVD in vaccinated people. I take baby aspirin.
There’s zero scientific evidence high cholesterol causes heart disease. Zero. The only “studies” that ever claimed it was bad claimed “correlation”, and even to get that result, that study was proven to have been paid by the sugar lobby to falsely claim cholesterol was harmful.
I don't even know why this is all debated. Just get 10000 pure vegans and pure carnivores to agree to Coronary Computed Tomography Angiographies every 5 years and see what they see.
I don't mind the grains, but the sugar is a serious problem not only for the belly but for health reasons (paralyzes the immune system, makes colds last longer, feeds cancer, etc.).
The beef fat tends to taste like grass, subbing it out helps with that.
If the cows are raised on grass and switch to grains near the end of their life it helps a lot with the flavor as well, but we just buy cows from locals which are 100% grass fed up to the day they are slaughtered. It takes a bit of getting used to, but overall it's a good win.
We're friends with a number of farmers who raise cattle, we don't pick out which in particular, but we do usually tell them what size we are looking for to start. From there the cow is slaughtered, hung for a while, then sent to a local butcher shop for processing.
We keep the bones for broth, choose the cuts we want from it, and grind the rest.

I don't have a formal recipe but I have made this casserole for easy breakfast meal prep and it turns out pretty damn good.
1) lightly crisp 2 bags of hash browns
2) cook either 1 pack thick cut bacon or two packs of sausage, draining all grease
3) combine with 18 eggs in a large glass pan optionally adding Sautee bell peppers and onions or jalapeños. Season with salt and pepper
4) cook covered at 350 until it starts to solidify (varies but usually 30 minutes) then add cheese on top. Cook additional until just solidified completely (very important it will continue cooking on the counter)

Personally I think Linus Pauling was onto something about high dose vitamin C. So meat, low-glycemic veggies and 10,000 milligrams of vitamin C a day for me plus a lot of fish oil/sardines.

Make sense that treating artery plaques would therefore only help someone temporarily, because the plaques are the symptoms of a disorder, not the cause, which appears to be inflammation from consuming grains, sugars, and heated vegetable and seed oils,

Yes I agree the inflammation in the vascular tissue is a key part of the equation and perhaps can account for some accelerated cases of CVD in vaccinated people. I take baby aspirin.

The only “studies” that ever claimed it was bad claimed “correlation”, and even to get that result, that study was proven to have been paid by the sugar lobby to falsely claim cholesterol was harmful.

If the cows are raised on grass and switch to grains near the end of their life it helps a lot with the flavor as well, but we just buy cows from locals which are 100% grass fed up to the day they are slaughtered. It takes a bit of getting used to, but overall it's a good win.

You shouldn’t use shop bought hash browns because they are chock full of shit chemicals and industrial oils.
Why drain off all the grease if you believe saturated fat and cholesterol are good for you?

1) Because I need the bacon grease for other things and not everyone enjoys their food like you like your women. Greasy
2) - I was going to shred the potatos anyways.
