Eventually. I think we're endowed for now with a finite lifetime and a planet of more wonders than one could possibly see. Expanding into space pushes us closer to the question of what are we here for in the first place. Personally, I'd not be surprised if the world ends before human space colonization takes hold, but I'd also be surprised if the species didn't somehow survive. Whether that means it (space exploration) happens in another "cycle" I dont' know.
