Imagine embarking on a 1400 mile road trip in a glorified Powerwheels, and entrusting the wellbeing of your family to "free chargers" along the way. I'm shocked that didn't work out. Dude spent 10 grand retrofitting his home and work, owns multiple properties including a lake house, and just dropped over a hundred grand on a luxury vehicle. "Honey, where's the closest FREE charger?"

[ - ] redgreenpill 2 points 9 monthsAug 11, 2023 12:00:21 ago (+2/-0)

The closest free FAST charger too. If he was in dire straights he could've easily brought a 120V charger with him and plugged in at a motel or even a fucking campground. Ford just came out with these things but isn't investing in the infrastructure like Tesla is.

Let's also not forget this guy can't drive. Accident requiring front bumper repair just after buying the new vehicle?

And spend another $200? What do you take him for, some kind of rich person? I did once have an illegal spic bitch stop halfway through running a red light, lose her nerve and back right into my Cutlass which was stopped at the line. So I won't judge him on the bumper, even though I think we can both agree that almost certainly wasn't what happened here.

For your next trick, put a generator in the bed and make your own diesel locomotive.

Really though, these Power Wheels are meant for those who don't travel far or off the beaten path.

This "Canadian man" is just some mystery meat hybrid invader.

The World Runs on OIL. There is NOT yet a replacement that will provide the power to replace it and Everyone pushing EV. KNOWS That. Which make them a criminal liar. An Expensive EV. is no more than a golf cart for local trips.

Nuclear was a solution. Which is why it was shut down.

[ - ] InYourFaceNancyGrace 0 points 9 monthsAug 11, 2023 08:41:32 ago (+0/-0)

I don't think that's the only reason; otherwise you wouldn't have nuclear subs and aircraft carriers. I think tetraethyl lead taught us a lesson about entrusting the citizenry with toxic substances en masse; radioactive would only be worse. Unless they get something like thorium going that can't be refined into high-yield explosives, that's just one of many reasons micro-nuclear is a bad idea.

Efficiency though? You're right - probably the best we've got right now.

[ - ] MasklessTheGreat 0 points 9 monthsAug 11, 2023 19:06:22 ago (+0/-0)

It’s not that. It’s that they don’t want the public to have cheap energy so they make everyone scared of nuclear. However, the needs of the navy override that as the tactical situation of submarines and aircraft carriers dictate nuclear power to be far superior. Nuclear power plants are incredibly safe. I know. I was one of the drunk 20 something’s that used to start the reactor back up to get back out to sea so we could get some blood back in the alcohol stream. Fucking reactors are damn near drunk proof. It’s the navy, what did you expect?

I'm not talking about wrecking a car and causing a meltdown or anything. Did you dispose of the plutonium waste once it was depleted? Nope - that's done by the nuclear engineers in a lengthy ROH process. All of that waste is super radioactive. But that's fine - we only have around 100 nuclear ships that need ROH every 20ish years, so we don't have facilities all over, and the waste and protocols can be as tightly controlled as they ought to be. Not only for the environmental factors and safety of the personnel involved, but to control (ideally prevent) the flow of fissile/radioactive materials into the black market.

Now, if there were, say 100 million very small ships that had to do ROH every 2-3 years (because they're much smaller, so the cores exhaust on shorter time scales), you have two choices: Trust the DIY mechanics to swap out their own nuclear cores safely, or build facilities everywhere and train an entire economic sector to follow the correct protocols. Of course that also increases the likelihood of materials going to the black market by orders of magnitude in either case. And I mean... carriers and subs don't typically get stolen, while cars get stolen by the millions each year. Fissile material control would be completely lost.

Sure - we can harvest power from fissile materials pretty safely, and we can set up foolproof systems that even the drunkest sailor can operate safely, but you can't compare the ~100 enormous military vehicles with the might of the US military budget behind them with entrusting fissile materials to every layperson in the US. Even just accounting for ignorance (let alone maliciousness) you'd quickly have both environmental and weapons disasters on your hands.

"He also wanted an environmentally friendly vehicle as owning one is "responsible citizenship these days.". Do you feel them coming? Normies and social shaming, they hate that, because they are conditioned to hate it. It's all pre-programmed.

Bala told FOX Business he believes the government needs to do more to "provide consumers with the right information."

The information he wanted was there the whole time but now he wants more government to save him from himself.

[ - ] Zyklonbeekeeper 6 points 9 monthsAug 10, 2023 23:58:38 ago (+6/-0)

HA HA HA X 25...fucking climate retards deserve to get suckered, stupid clowns like this who ran away from the circus are completely deluded in believing that they can make a difference in protecting the planet...these are sick people without brains.

[ - ] Special_Prosecutor 4 points 9 monthsAug 11, 2023 04:15:01 ago (+4/-0)

Bala's a retard. The government created the EV market through regulations, incentives, and tax.

Because Bala's too retarded to have done his own research, he's asking for more government intervention.

Nanny State.

I'm not anti EV, I owned one 10 years ago. I've also owned CNG, Diesel and E85 fueled vehicles. And, I worked for a hydrogen fuel cell supplier. Alternative fuels have their place, but it all goes to shit when the government gets involved.

You'd have to be a real idiot to buy an electric vehicle to drive around the country. They do have a use in inner cities if that's the only place you'll be.

On the flip side, my work has given me a xlwb van, at max load it has 121 miles of range. Terrible for travel, but fine for work, fun to drive and there's 100s of charge points everywhere and for now nobody using them.

If you go on long road trips, with poor infrastructure (like the us), I wouldn't get one.
For a commuter car, say 25 miles each way, they're pretty good.

[ - ] CoronaHoax 4 points 9 monthsAug 11, 2023 08:20:13 ago (+4/-0)

Dude who gives a shit if there are lots of charging points. It still takes like 50 minutes of sitting there to charge it.

[ - ] Leveraction 1 point 9 monthsAug 11, 2023 12:48:59 ago (+1/-0)

And who the hell do you think will be paying for all those charging stations captain genius?
