It wasn't anyways before they invaded, as there was an ongoing civil war and contested territory. All Russia did was cause billions upon billions of military aid to flow into the country.
Enough to cover their military losses? How is that growth going to look now that their blockade on Ukraine ports have backfired? Would you sail on a ship to a Russian port in the Black Sea?
China is enjoying the cheap oil they are getting at a discount. But a lot of countries aren't happy at not getting Ukraine wheat. And really, bragging about nigger country love?
I would describe both as losing. The Russian Parlement authorized the incursion immediately after Zelensky announced his intention to apply for membership.
That's now off the table.
Russia didn't cause billions to flow into Ukraine. Biden did that. The war hawks in the EU did that. And, we are suffering far more, as a result than Russia, who is now closer to China, the other BRICS nations (including the 61 other countries on board with the BRICS) and several African countries.
Russia simply put a stop to Ukraine shelling the two regions, killing their own people, and put a halt on NATO and EU membership.
Russia, last year, had a 2% reduction in GDP, (the US was expecting a 20% decline as a result of the sanctions) and is expecting to be at pre-incursion levels by the end of this year. The US, however, is suffering high inflation, high energy costs, and political instability over the war support. Europe even more so.
Lots of countries being pissed about not getting Ukraine wheat are blaming the US, the EU, and Ukraine for this. Stop funding this bullshit war and Ukraine's wheat shipments will continue. Simple as.
Russia is better off today than before the war. The US and the EU are far, far worse off. Russia will overcome the sanctions before the sanctions are lifted and will enjoy their tight relationships with half the fucking world as we watch the US dollar lose world reserve currency status to the gold backed BRICS currency.
Your insane if you think not much has changed in 5 months. US interest rates are up, prices are still climbing here at home and the American people are largely against this war.

I stated, very clearly at the outset of this incursion. The western media would use "the failure to take Kiev" as a victory against Russia. But Russia never intended to take Ukraine. Putin said specially that he never intended to take Ukraine. The Russian Parlement never authorized taking Ukraine. They invented a victory out of an abject failure, and $300 Billion later, Russia occupies the two regions that they said they would occupy. They don't occupy anywhere that they said they wouldn't occupy. Ukraine is not and will not be in NATO or the EU. And the Azov forces (the nazi group referred to by Putin) are all but defeated entirely. Are you going to insist that there is still a strong Nazi presence in Ukraine?
And, you read the rest. You just simply can't respond because you know trying to defend an economically positive situation for the US. the EU, or Ukraine would make you look like a fucking idiot.
