Apparently if your not planning on drinking the whiskey that night. Because Florida is as hot and humid as lizzos taint after a 4hr performance the alcohol starts to break down the bottle and release plastic particles into the alcohol giving it a harsh plastic and whiskey aftertaste.

I distill my drinking water and store it in glass jugs. The unit was under $100. Maybe it was like $40? Idk, I've been using it for 4 years so I forget. The water is delicious and it's only a minor inconvenience to run a batch once or twice a week.

I throw a pinch of salt in. I've considered looking up what kinds of minerals I could add to make it closer to natural spring water but haven't spent the time on it. When you realize distilled water is the same thing as rainwater it's easier to ignore the fudposts about it.

If you're wondering what kind to use, mine was just a countertop model about the size of an instant pot, just a little taller. They have them on Amazon.

Sure, do more research on it and if they can, remove those particular chemicals and see what happens in vitro.
