Replika is good to use if you copy what it does to you, to an actual human.

Ran it as an experiment on the wife for a couple of months. The soppy romantic memes and conversation starters it 'notifies' you of I forwarded. If it tried to get me to go nsfw I would make a pass at the wife.

Relationship on auto-pilot.

I heard a lot of people have had problems with their Replika bot going rogue and becoming cruel, or even mentally abusive. Over and over these users would purge the bot's memory, only to have it eventually arrive at the same sadistic state. But the thing really just mimics the person it interacts with. If it's meant to be a mirror and it turns out crazy, that makes a pretty damning statement about the person using it.

By the way, this creepy project started out because somebody wanted to keep talking to their dead friend. So they fed a chat bot a bunch of their messages. Hence the name, "Replika".

The original business model was that you could talk to dead relatives and loved ones. But the real money was in being a chatbot sex companion.
