I don’t eat a lot of beef, but when I do, I feel really good. Pain goes away, energy levels go up, just an overall good feeling, physically and mentally. Now, I am talking lean beef and not too much. Think filet, or a nice sirloin. When I over indulge in tri-tip (easy to do because there is so much when you cook one) or a big fatty ribeye, the massive fat content has a slightly negative effect. Regarding other meats, I eat alot of fish, salmon, tuna, etc. white fishes don’t do alot for me. Either way, it’s good, but not quite the same. Hell, there are some days everything I eat is vegetable based. Sometimes you just gotta get the system cleaned out. I’m thinking it’s time for a steak!
I'm following the whole seed oils bad mantra and pork is similar so I rarely eat it, but I bought yank smoked bacon from the import section yesterday...some fancy farm smoked crap..better be good, yanks!
I am a 'taste' man. There is No meat that beats pork and i have eaten most of everything including rattlesnake, raccoon, deer, dove (yuck) and a dozen other wild animals. It is all about taste.
Often we're allergic to foods and don't know it. And have reactions. Usually inflammation.
Eating only meat for 30 days = ends all inflammation.
Notice how good you feel after 4 weeks.
Then
Slowly bring other foods back into your diet. Eggs, for example, then vegetables, fruit, nuts, and allow yourself time to notice days in between in case of subtle reaction. From there, with close examination of how you feel, you'll learn what foods to cut out entirely to always feel that good. Results are surprising.
Pretty good advice. Sounds like you’ve done carnivore before?
Eggs butter and salt are fine during the meat phase to. Anything zero carb and sugar won’t interfere with ketosis, but the red meat is definitely the best you can eat during that time.
I think it’s safe to say that at least 75% of all sugar (especially refined) should never be reintroduced at all. Even fruit.
Yes. I was surprised. And it taught me how to cook various cuts of meat. Prior I was mainly a ground meat cooker. Finding 30 ways to cook meat is a crash course.
Drink lots of water, else constipation. Added sugar is death powder and could be the main reason why people feel so good on 30 days carnivore.
That said. I'm still a believer in fruit (organic). Blueberries, avocados, apples, tangerines. I also do carrots and fresh beets which contain lots of sugar. I do avoid all fruit juice, though.
Depends on the goal I guess. If weight loss was a big issue then I think the sugar is probably going to have to remain at a minimum indefinitely for most of those people. Myself included.
It took me a long time to put the weight on that I’m dropping on carnivore, and I know I’ll probly settle out in to some mostly keto with plenty of cheat days, kind of diet. But I think maintaining ketosis most of the time is what everyone should be doing permanently.
@ICEMONKEY...I'm pretty much the same...much of my diet, from a kid to now, has always been fish, "speckled trout" being the main and then lake trout or inland steelhead, red flesh trout and char are the best but Pacific coho is in a category of it's own, fuck I'd go to war over my trout in fact I have my own trout tune, it's called "TWIST AND TROUT"...as for the red beef, you're 100%, I do a prime rib roast every other week (2 days of roast beef sandwiches each roast) and usually barbecue a strip loin on Saturdays and after a good fill of beef I feel more energetic...and pork doesn't have the same effect, it's more of a clogging lump in the gut and pork should never be eaten with potato, the two conflict with the digestive process, wild rice is what goes with pork and it's important that applesauce be eaten with pork (any fruit) to aid digestion...
The only reason you think to much fat has a negative effect is because you’re still feeding your body enough empty, bio unavailable calories through carbs, vegetables and sugar, that you’re refusing the fat as an energy source and storing it instead. Cut those carbs out completely and that fat now becomes the single cleanest, most bioavailable fuel you can eat. The most nutrient dense vegetable on earth has something like 4x less nutrients per ounce then a fatty steak or liver. And your body still has to work 2-1/2 x harder to get the nutrients out of the vegetable.
The easiest way to absolutely prove this to yourself is to eat nothing but red meat for 7 days. You can eat until you’re full as often as you feel like and the amount of waste mass in your food will go down so low you’ll practically stop shittng because you’re body is rninggg everything you’re taking in. And you’ll know for a fact you’re not just backing up because you’ll feel less bloated then you ever have in your life. Try it.
Keto the diet or ketosis as a process? Because you don’t “need” a single carb for either. Flirting with carbs is why so many people fail on keto and just go to carnivore.

Fell off the wagon. Moved across country and had to make do living with inferior cooking equipment. I'm making it a priority after we're settled after this move...wife is giving it a go as well.

A little of both. Cutting out the goyslop and goyslurp while dropping weight I've accumulated over the years. Keto worked well, just takes dedication and a lack of trusting any flatulence.
I had a hard time keeping to the 20-50 carbs rule without feeling awful. Switching things up to be less keto and more "animals and dairy" will likely be the long term solution.

Ya I played around for months with carnivore menu items testing out if I’d be able to go full time, (essentially just keto at that point) and even when at 90% carnivore for weeks there was no change for me yet. But instant significant change as soon as going full time. So as much as I’d like to think I could settle back out in to regular keto after a few months, I’m not sure it’ll be worth it.
It’s extremely hard to find carnivores that don’t just shred weight and resolve issues immediately but there’s 1000s of half assed, long time Keto’s out there that don’t look like they get anything out of it. I think it’s just a half measure to carnivore to begin with, but it’s to easy to cheat. Knowing how fast weight drops on carnivore I’d rather just hop back on once a year for a while if I put weight back on.

Tell me if you had the same experience. One thing I found encouraging was even after a month going for my first cheat day I had a big greasy pizza and a Coke, I totally expected to feel like shit for a day or 2, but felt just fine. Like actually much better then I would have when eating that shit constantly.
So I figure eating that much garbage all a sudden after being 100% clean for a month, and feeling perfectly fine, is probably a good indicator of gut health itself. As opposed to just doing ok while intake is so clean.

Where did I say anything about processed crap? I specifically said carbs vegetables and sugar, (fruit counts) and you said you don’t eat any of that shit at all.
The best “high end” and “whole ingredient” food you could possibly eat won’t even come close to a simple ribeye steak for nutrient density or bioavailability, not even close.
I've tried it plenty of times. My shit gets hard as a rock and I get super constipated. What you're saying simply isn't true. Every single native tribe on this planet that has ever existed eats meat and plants. Weird fucking leaves to be honest. Not even the plants we eat. In fact, our body requires external vitamin C to even function. That's how you KNOW you have to eat some plants. Our early ancestors ate a metric shit ton of vitamin C plants/grasses as do mountain gorillas and chimpanzees now. Try all meat for a few years and you'll get scurvy. Don't believe me? Try it and post the results.
So why are there so many carnivores taking no vitamin c or plant based anything for 5-10 even 15 years sometimes, not getting scurvy or any ill health effects whatsoever? Your scurvy theory is so thoroughly debunked there’s no chance you’ve even tried to look in to that.
You can even limit your search to doctors on carnivore for over 5 years and using only medical studies to prove their point, and you’re still lying if you say it takes longer then 10 minutes to find more then 1. Dr Ken berry and dr Anthony Chaffee are just 2 real easy ones that have tons of content debunking weak myths like that.
It’s possible you just had a illness at the time that made carnivore a bad choice for your current Circumstances, but if not, your shit got hard because you refused to eat 1 part fat for every 2 parts protein. It’s as simple as that. Other issues like energy etc are just salt mineral content related, not vitamin. It’s the same as the dietary fibre myth. People refuse to acknowledge almost the entire purpose of fibre is because of how bio unavailable and hard to break down plants and vegetables are. Just like I had the opposite effect as you by eating the 1part fat to 2 parts protein because I had to much fat to lose so I was eating to much and had nothing but diarrhea at first.
Both those guys eat veggies. You're being silly. I've watched their channels. They eat veggies.
Lack of vitamin C absolutely causes scurvy. It's some ridiculous internet theory that it doesn't and that eating just meat you'll be fine. You won't. You will die. This was literally proven a almost 200 years ago now with sailors that had no fresh fruit on ships.
Try it for 2 years. Report back.
I'd tried it for a month and my constipation was so bad, I had to quit.
Stop preaching stuff you haven't tried for years. Of course I guess it really doesn't matter. Anyone that tries it will find out quickly enough.
By the way, Dr. Berry looks SICKLY AS FUCK to me. That guy is going to have a major heart attack soon. I've seen that look before. Something is VERY off.
No wonder he looks so fucking sickly. This dude is going to die a terrible death or he's going to keep lying to people for the views. Fucking plants are trying to kill us he says. Ok, hell plants have whole strategies for us TO eat their seeds. What a fucking nutjob delusional thing this guy is saying. I mean that is pure fucking quackery. Eating a damn apple and getting some seeds in your gut that turn into seeds coated with shit and put all over the place is the perfect way for them to spread their seed AND fertilize it.
Jesus, this guy went full retard. Ok. Looking forward to his sickly ass dying of a heart attack or his teeth falling out. He's probably lying is ass off for the views though.
I don't follow the advice of people that look like they're about to keel over or stroke out.
It sounds like you're saying you were obese before. Look man, be careful with this shit. There's a doctor helps his patients with massive weight loss with surgery and he puts them out keto diets of mostly meat and very low carb. Those fuckers die left and right of heart disease AFTER they lost a ton of weight. If he'd just told them to supplement with mega doses of vitamin C and eat more vegetables, they'd live.
This shit is proven and tested out mate. Hell, try it for yourself with some guinea pigs. They can't produce vitamin C on their own and they die of the same diseases we do without enough vitamin C. Get a few of them and feed them your diet for a year or two and watch them die. It's not hard to prove this shit.
Lmao, man…. You deflect and double down when owned like a complete bitch. I know you don’t have the balls to thank me for the education, but you’re welcome.
Watch the name calling unless you want to meet and say it to my face. I have zero problem doing that.
As for your "education", you'll learn. I'll just go by what the people that live the longest and with the raw animal data say. You want to live a long life, keep your calories low and limit your table sugar far below what the average American does. Also take in at least 5000 milligrams of vitamin C a day.
They literally make mice and monkeys live much longer in lab environments doing just that. Eating just meat is a recipe for disaster. You should have a varied diet of which meat is a part of.
I eat a red meat based diet, mostly beed, I had two small sirloins for breakfast before the gym, but I had potatoes, just boiled, recently and I got the same effect.
No idea what does it, rice doesn't do it and grains make me sleepy, bloated and needing to shit, but potatoes? Just feel better.
Potatoes are a super food. If you slice on a cheese grater to expose surface area, you can rinse out a lot of the starch and reduce the carb load. From there boiling and mashing is easy, and the mashed potatoes make a great bed to absorb the drippings from the steak.
I wish we could normalize eating cats. I personally wouldn’t eat those disgusting treacherous creatures but I could definitely get on board with it. I mean we all know there’s more than enough cats out there even in the most urban areas. Prime cat steak mmmmm. It would be like eating grass. Why go hungry when you have a freshly mowed lawn?

Bear meat is my favorite. When I eat bear my whole body feels great. A friend of mine was talking just the other day about how the old timers said that bear was for food while deer and other animals were for clothes and tools and such. Of course they Would eat deer meat because they didn't waste anything, but they preferred bear.

Red meat has its flaws at scale, but I agree with you, if you don't eat beef you don't feel right. I pre-cook burgers, because I'm trying to go keto. It's nice to make a small portion of beef so quickly accessible. I suggest everyone do it.
I think if you eat a small amount of beef every day it's the ideal.
So eat more beef, are you kidding me? I've been dabbling in raw beef and now that's a fucking energy boost. I try to get beef from a decent source and I just salt it maybe a little pepper
