Does anyone here listen to the radio while driving?

submitted by TheOriginal1Icemonkey to whatever 1.3 yearsJul 30, 2023 23:41:27 ago (+30/-0)     (whatever)

I live in nor cal where we have the best rock stations, but anymore they all play the same 12 crappy A side songs on rotation. Then I switch to talk radio where everything is “Israel is our greatest ally” coupled with ads for making your dick harder or some jewish investment crap. It’s all so tiresome.

Not for the last 20+ years.

I got sick of the ads, absolute wanker DJs spewing jew propaganda 24/7, and then of course I got old enough to reach that stage of life where new music is all shit, and all I want to hear is what I listened to as a teenager.

[ - ] Sleazy 10 points 1.3 yearsJul 30, 2023 23:50:11 ago (+10/-0)

you hear propaganda and programming on the radio. All those songs you enjoy were commissioned by satanic people for satanic means. Stop enabling them to control your thoughts. Hell is a bad place to be

Start listening to audiobooks that teach you thinks. There are men out there older, wiser, and more experienced and many of them have fortunately taken the time to write about what they’ve learned.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 5 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 07:20:54 ago (+5/-0)

I stopped years ago. Shit music, and the DJ starts hollering at 10x the volume of the music long before the song ends anyways. I drive in silence, plotting how to best defeat ZOG.

Nah, not in quite a while. Stopped watching TV like a decade ago and stopped listening to the radio not too long after that. The local rock stations started playing a bunch of faggot pop shit with AC/DC mixed in every fourth or fifth song just to say they're still playing rock. I'd rather just ride in silence.

[ - ] Kozel 4 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 00:18:37 ago (+5/-1)

No. I hate the radio. There's nothing good there. Like you say its all jew nigger shit.

I download the songs I want in flac or opus and take advantage of my audio system. No low bitrate shit is allowed.

Story: When I was in my 20s I put in an aftermarket stereo in my car and didn't connect the radio antenna on purpose so my retarded friends wouldn't be able to coerce me into listening to low bitrate radio niggers.

[ - ] SilentByAssociation 3 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 07:53:10 ago (+3/-0)

Believe it or not, I do sometimes listen to the radio while driving. I have a local classical music station that plays classical music all the time.

[ - ] psykx 4 points 1.3 yearsJul 30, 2023 23:45:08 ago (+4/-0)

I get NY AM talk radio stations in range but I prefer the Classical Network in the morning commute. Most of the time I use Pandora but my car also has satellite radio so it's a rotation of those.

[ - ] Cunty 3 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 07:45:22 ago (+3/-0)

I can't handle the news or the adverts that come every 6 minutes, I tend to play an audio book via Bluetooth from my phone to the Android set in the car.
Then there's the fucking female djs that love the sound of their own voice, fuck that shit!.

[ - ] Swej_Ehtsag 3 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 03:20:44 ago (+3/-0)

I luckily have a Bluetooth receiver in my car deck and download playlists of music, books from Audible and podcasts on Youtube on my phone. Every episode of NPR is some faggot talking about bravery or nigger shit. Literally nothing of any value is ever spoken on that station. The "right-wing" is that larping kike who loves is pet Trump but will endlessly remind you of the "6 gorillian". If you can get audio out of your phone or portable device, figure that out and never listen to the broadcast jew again.

[ - ] HonkyMcNiggerSpic 2 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 13:22:58 ago (+2/-0)

fuck no I use a thumbdrive. Satellite radio DJ's are all jewish and lame as fuck and I cringe when I hear them

[ - ] Stonkmar 2 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 11:57:09 ago (+2/-0)

There's a station near me that plays old swing, blues, and rock. Barely any commercials. I listen to that.

[ - ] Special_Prosecutor 3 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 01:27:13 ago (+3/-0)

I use Byondpod application on my phone and down load podcasts from The Stew Peters Show, The Dan Bongino Show, and The Tom Woods Show. Or listen to an audio book. I recommend Gullag Archipeligo, but it's long as fuck so spread it out.

For music I've got a USB drive with nearly 200 albums on it. Sometimes I'll stream Pandoa or Spotify merely for the randomness.
Broadcast radio and TV is trash.

[ - ] RedBarchetta 2 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 10:40:38 ago (+2/-0)

Books on tape and playlists from a MP3 Drive.

[ - ] oyveyo 2 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 09:11:43 ago (+2/-0)

Hell no. Fuck the radio. Every time I try it, all of the stations are doing synchronized advertising... every fucking station plays ads at the same time so you can't hunt up and down the dial to find any music, it's all ads all stations all at the same time. All the stations are owned by the same jews. Whatever genre you choose to listen to, it's the same goddamn playlist every day on shuffle.

I do sometimes put on Beck or Hannity to hear the narrative they’re pushing for 5-15 minutes out of curiosity. The Limbaugh replacement glowniggers were debating alien disclosure. Usually when I’m making a quick run to the gas station.

Hate to say it. I fought the good fight. Finally went sirius via satellite. Alternate between 60s 70s 80s 90s classic vinyl. They have some other shit but not important. If there was an easier cheaper way then id do it but sirius is just better. Where i live theres no good fm stations.

[ - ] lolxd 1 point 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 13:20:58 ago (+1/-0)

[ - ] Deadjews 1 point 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 11:48:03 ago (+1/-0)

I lived In a city called Everett for about a decade. The major rock station was 99.9 THE ROCK of Seattle. The morning line up was talk radio, music, afternoon was The Men's Room. It was immensely popular for a radio station in the 2010s. Especially for the time and place it felt like a place for guys to be guys. It started with the morning show. BJ Shay the host started a slow burn of being liberal on his show. To the point that the afternoon guys would mock him and ostracized him. So I just stopped listening to the morning show. after 10am the music was good and the Men's room was the man space. This was all before voat and having a place to discuss what was going on in the world. Right around when it became the same 30 or songs played on repeat the hosts of the Men's Room were bitching about having to go to a few days long HR event. Sucks for them right? It was the most bizarre thing. When they got back there was almost a distinctive personality shift in 2 of the four and they started talking about social issues. This was a segment where they drank beer and shot the shit. My personal thought is that they got MK ultra treatment. I tried to brush it off, but whatever spark there was to that station died. I remember feeling frightened for them, like what happened to them for this shift to occur. I probably stopped listening in 2014 or do, but I remember observing a slow insidious agenda being forced.

[ - ] Spaceman84 1 point 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 10:13:03 ago (+1/-0)

Not anymore. I used to listen to Rush Limbaugh because he was good at his job, the other talk radio hosts all suck.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 0 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 21:53:30 ago (+0/-0)

Man, I so miss Rush. There really aren’t any words to describe the void he left. I pull up old stuff from the ditto cam just to hear him again from time to time. I’ll admit, I had to pull over to the side of the road and have a cry when his wife came on the air and announced his passing.

[ - ] Leveraction 1 point 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 10:10:13 ago (+1/-0)

Very little access in our rural area even using their app. Music has been shit for a long time. Was listening to conservative talk, but they've even gone more leftist, so fuck em. Give me an old fashioned CD so I don't have to listen to the annoying ads.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 0 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 21:54:09 ago (+0/-0)

Yep. Got my CDs in the truck too!

[ - ] o0shad0o 1 point 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 08:51:52 ago (+1/-0)

One good thing about modern car radios is almost all of them have a spot you can plug in a USB thumb drive. A cheap 32gb drive holds a LOT of music.

[ - ] GreenSaint 1 point 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 07:32:38 ago (+2/-1)

Sirius all the time. I get it for free.

How

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 2 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 01:40:18 ago (+2/-0)*

Free may be an exaggeration, but Amex refunds that, among other things, it if you pay them a bunch of money each year. Marginally free.

[ - ] Swej_Ehtsag 2 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 03:24:47 ago (+2/-0)

Why

Nothing is free you have to listen to commercials. And to pay for a service to listen to commercials is insane. Avoid the Satellite jew. Download audible books or podcasts and get bluetooth or some other way to connect into your cars stereo system.

[ - ] observation1 0 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 09:31:26 ago (+0/-0)

No commercials but I get your point

[ - ] paul_neri 1 point 1.3 yearsJul 30, 2023 23:52:45 ago (+3/-2)

No because it interferes with listening to the car engine talk to me, telling me to change gear.

[ - ] Fascinus 9 points 1.3 yearsJul 30, 2023 23:59:15 ago (+9/-0)

Interesting. When did Toyota begin offering the Prius with a manual transmission?

[ - ] 2Drunk 2 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 07:12:17 ago (+2/-0)

Fun fact, Honda made a manual transmission hybrid in 2000. Hondas just run. I don't know how many times I have erased the error codes. If it still runs nothing needs to be fixed. FU 1420.

[ - ] SilentByAssociation 0 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 07:49:47 ago (+0/-0)

What's 1420 for? Not a Honda, but I have an O2 sensor that keeps the check engine light on, and the car is just about a quarter million miles in. I should check for any additional error codes, because it's been a while...

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 0 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 00:25:11 ago (+0/-0)

Hey, you might recall 98 Rock's morning shows. Do you recall The Rise Guys? Remember when they were replaced by Rob, Arnie and Dawn? That RAD show ran for 25 years and finally got kicked out of Sac. Fuck, did I hate them. Prior to the Rise Guys, it was the Boomer and Whitey Show. That may have been in the era of 93 Rock before they moved to KZAP's number.

[ - ] Fascinus 3 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 00:34:43 ago (+3/-0)

So, I actually do remember the Rise Guys and when they were replaced by Rob, Arnie and Dawn.

Based on your comment about Tower Records on Watt earlier, I'm guessing you're a little bit older than me; not a lot. Maybe enough to make a difference in radio stations, however.

Around the time when RAD started on 93 rock, I was a fairly avid listener to KWOD, 107.5 (or whatever their number was). I used to call in and chat with Nick the Aussie IDK the fuck what his last name was and win concert tickets from them all the time.

I remember he'd fuck with just about everyone who called in and he never fucked with me. I was always direct and to the point, which I guess he appreciated.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 2 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 00:38:12 ago (+2/-0)

I’m 52. I grew up literally right around the corner from Tower, Watt Ave. I’d been hanging out there since I was old enough to go around the corner. Spent a lot of time at Country Club Lanes right next door as well.

[ - ] Fascinus 3 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 00:42:19 ago (+3/-0)

As I suspected. Just a little older than me. Not much.

I grew up in actual northern CA (think "where the redwoods meet the coast") and moved to SacTown (very close to your neighborhood - I started over by the university) in the late nineties.

I actually ended up living in Arden Park once I got settled, which was right in your backyard.

Crazy to think we might have crossed paths and never known it.

It truly is a small world :)

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 2 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 00:48:22 ago (+2/-0)

By the late nineties I wasn’t going out and meeting people so much anymore as I was working my ass off at the time. However, did you ever wander into Mandango's at Howe and Hurley? I think that’s the corner it was on. Maybe Fulton and Hurley?

[ - ] Fascinus 3 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 01:04:25 ago (+3/-0)

Dude, I lived right there for a while, on Fulton and... shit... just east of Chevy's.

Trying to remember Mandango's (I swear they had ads on local radio) and I don't think so.

I used to go to some bar in Carmichael with my buddy that had "amateur strip night" on Fridays - he was way into that and I went to that teeny bopper bar over by the old Circuit City (or WTF it was - not the one on Howe and Arden... the one across from Arden mall by Mervyn's) that they were always pimping on KWOD - that crowd was way too young for me.

Ever hit the Fox & Hound downtown?

I liked that place. Had a GF that told me she used to see Cake play there before they made it big. That would have been pretty cool, I suppose.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 2 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 01:11:19 ago (+2/-0)

The Fox and Goose? English ales with breakfast? Hell yeah! Been a long time though.
I did end up in that club across from Arden Mall once, can’t recall the name. I hate clubs though, only went to a few, once. The strip club back then was The Embers on Auburn Blvd.
man, I’m tired. I gotta get up early✌️

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 2 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 00:43:09 ago (+2/-0)

Oh yeah, I remember KWOD, the callout anyway. I don’t know what they played. Pop?
Did you ever visit Tower on Watt?
Did you ever get up in that neck of the woods? That’s literally where I grew up and lived for 44 years (aside from a few overseas stints and some other temporary addresses) before I moved to where you know I am now.

[ - ] Fascinus 3 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 00:55:17 ago (+3/-0)

Did you ever visit Tower on Watt?

Hell yeah, dude!

I used to go there all the time.

In fact, your comment earlier brought up a memory I hadn't thought about in years.

About 25 years ago, Chubby Checker was there promoting some new album of his, or some shit. Mrs. Fascinus (who was Ms. Fascinus at the time) was a fan of oldies; her dad listened to pretty much nothing but.

I heard he was in town and took her there for the event. I remember when we got up to the end of the line he had a look at then Ms. Fascinus, fresh as a spring flower, and asked me "Is that your woman?", to which I enthusiastically replied in the affirmative.

He gave me a knowing nod of approval, signed our shit or whatever and we left.

I recall thinking it was pretty funny to me that this dude she had grown up listening to as a little girl saw some of the same qualities that I did. She was then, and remains to this day, one hot piece of ass.

Lucky me :)

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 2 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 01:05:43 ago (+2/-0)

Oh shit, that’s funny!🤣
I actually got to see Chubby Checker play at a Flowmaster company Christmas party. My friend in Petaluma worked at Flomaster.
Do you recall the time, I think it was 98, or 99, when Metallica showed up with about three hours warning and played a set in Tower's parking lot? I missed it. My dad and little brother walked around the corner to it, I slacked off somehow.

[ - ] Fascinus 3 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 01:15:52 ago (+3/-0)

Do you recall the time, I think it was 98, or 99, when Metallica showed up with about three hours warning and played a set in Tower's parking lot?

Holy shit! I do!

I had totally forgotten about that.

That's totally fucking cool about Flowmaster. Wish they were still made in the USA.

I used to live near there when I was a little kid. My God has that area changed. I tried to take the wife and kids past my childhood home at night about 6-7 years ago and, as stupid as it might sound, I couldn't find the motherfucker; there were so many fucking beaner trucks parked on the street that I could barely make out one house from the other.

Actually have a badass, USA-made Flowmaster on the truck. Sticker has worn off over the years and she still sounds cherry.

Man, the more I hear from you the more I think it would be cool to hang out some time.

I'll probably never go back to CA and let me know if you ever decide to make it up to the PNW.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 1 point 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 22:38:15 ago (+1/-0)

Well shit, I'll probably never make it up there to be honest. I have a few folks around the Eugene area and family I despise in Portland. Shit, I’d buy ya a beer if you ever headed down this way. Kind of funny to randomly find someone online from the same old hood.

[ - ] paul_neri -1 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 00:01:56 ago (+1/-2)

Buicks are great cars, up to 2010 or so. The GM 3800 motor lasts forever. Then they started rebadging Opels and completely changed the brand.

[ - ] Fascinus 1 point 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 11:48:29 ago (+1/-0)

The GM 3800 motor lasts forever.

I've heard that from folks that are in the business. I've even heard it called the "best engine ever", which is pretty high praise.

[ - ] Spaceman84 0 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 13:31:27 ago (+0/-0)

I don’t know if I’d go that far. The Ford Modular 4.6L and the AMC (Jeep) 4.0 straight-6 will run for just as long as the 3800. They’re all easy to service too. The 90s were peak years for engine reliability.

[ - ] AryanPrime 3 points 1.3 yearsJul 31, 2023 01:45:36 ago (+3/-0)

"given my green cred"

he was implying you drive a prius because you are a kike and all kikes are inherent faggots

not because you are "eco conscious" kike filth, but nice try in downplaying people mocking you kikes for being the faggots that you are lmfao.

Hydrogen fuel? lmfao, kike wants hydrogen bombs on the highway in White countries, highly doubt he wants them in israel...
