I have succeeded in killing four nests, maybe five. The fifth nest is not really visible from the ground, but I don't see any more wasps in that area, so I think it's probably dead.
I did not end up using the shopvac. Instead, I relied entirely on cans of wasp spray. One can seems to be enough for 2-3 nests. The can says "up to 27'" of range, but that's not really accurate. Maybe horizontally, but if you have to spray up at all, the range drops off pretty fast. This spray is really effective though. It foams up once it hits your target, and thoroughly saturates the nest and all the faggot wasps hanging out on it. It kills all the larvae too, as can be seen in the linked photo.
So, 4 or 5 down, maybe a few more to go. I think there's a nest inside the driver's side mirror of my car... I fucking hate wasps, so so much.
I have had a similar battle with those stinging niggers in the past. This year it has been roaches. Yes, cockroaches. Outside only though. They never made it indoors. Here’s what I did. About a week ago, I hooked up the hose to the ortho dial spray thing and filled it with their bug-be-gon stuff. When they were all out on the gravel outside my back door, I hit them and the whole area with a massive deluge. Haven’t seen but one or two a night since then. If they come back, I’ll do it again. Man, it felt good winning that battle!
