The language she used about her son in the tweet from the article was a little troubling to me. It verged uncomfortably close to romantic. It's not the way I'd expect a mother to speak about her son. One soul shared by two bodies? The love of her life? The only person who ever loved her unconditionally?

Bear in mind: she had two other kids.

Maybe I'm reading into that too far, but I think that language is a bit strong. It's what I'd expect someone to say about a departed spouse.

She was an extremely histrionic person. I think its more likely (than a romantic relationship) that she is creating a more dramatic narrative about the relationship with her son than actually existed irl. I think theres a tendency to do this among survivors—to retcon a relationship to be more “special” than it was — in order to assuage guilt about not caring enough or being there, or perhaps for sympathy. With histrionic people, this behavior is going to be off the charts compared to normal folks.

Really it seems like a slap in the face to her other children. I read she had 3 others. One is still in his teens.

You could be right, of course. The point you made about the 'slap in the face' is one of the reasons why her language made me so uncomfortable. It was the way it singled out the one at the expense of the others (in addition to the romantic aspect).
