Good information, and the guy is cool and clearly knows his business, but this video is way WAY too long.

tl;dw: There aren’t any carpenters because it doesn’t pay as much as other trades.

After giving up speed chess, I went back into carpentry for about a year before buying my first business. Then did some consulting where I made around 550 times more than the carpentry job. Still did my own construction work though, since it's fun and I had the tools and experience.

Welding and Electric fields pay much better.
My son runs wire and rods for $4K a week on local shit.
Over seas shit is $10K clear with zero expenses.
Been doing great since 23yrs coming on 40yrs and life is good.
There arent 8 wood jobs combined to touch it.
The money is where the demand is

Heavy mechanical has gotten so short handed that the minimum pay for a shop apprentice is like $24/hr now
