In a LOT of very numerous families however, the youngest are often sickly and not so sharp. I think the mother gets exhausted and can't quite assemble them right after a certain number. Obviously that number is going to depend on the woman's diet and health status.

So while I agree that reproducing more is good, there are downsides.

If you hear a woman talking about how hard pregnancy is or pregnancy is a burden which so many young girls are taught today then you've got a bad one. I don't know if there are many around anymore but you've got to find that woman who feels like she's going to glow when she's pregnant. It needs to be the happiest time of their life not a hardship.
