I've driven all over the Eastern seaboard in the South and the West Coast and I have never seen unfriendly people in any one of these Southern rural areas.

The whole Deliverance thing is a bunch of nonsense created by Hollywood. The only good thing about it is it scares people who live in California from moving there. So I'm happy to tell people that oh it's scary as hell and all the people are awful and they might kill you in your sleep. If it'll keep them away.

Back in the hills here in California, I've run across a naked family working on their truck on the dirt road. Was a dead end too, so had to come back the same way. Marijuana grows and bikers up in them thar hills. Mountain people here used to be pretty wild. Mostly all paved private roads now.

great! I like documentaries like this. They give a completely different picture of what people are used to seeing through the glasses of the msm or hollywood. I'll be watching more documentaries of this guy.

They are dirt poor yet the litter isn’t everywhere. The few lots I saw seems to be tidy.

Wow, I worked on building a 40' diameter coal silo in Grundy back in the day. Just back from being stationed on the east German border.

The one door I knocked on for directions opened with a pistol in my face. Was a pretty rough kind of place back in the 70s. The pizza hut was the town social center.
