The uncanny valley is a preprogrammed response that developed through natural selection. It may not have had a formal name, but the point is that we have that fear/disgust for a reason. That reason may well have been because of jews from ancient times, but it is there because there was something out there that looked human but wasn't, and it was dangerous to us because the fear/disgust response was selected for.
