Just so you know, I haven't forgotten this comment, I just want some time to ponder how I reply.

Upon further contemplation, how I would describe it is as an innate immune system much like what Voat has.
A society can react to an emergent threat, one that it's never encountered before, but only upon exposure and with time to develop a response, just like the one in our bodies.
In fact, I would argue that the Voat immune system is just a specialized extension of the primary social one, one specifically geared to deal with fags and shills.

Now, in regards to television, that was completely new and foreign to humanity, and Boomers had to be on the front line to be exposed to the cultural stresses and schisms it introduced, slowly and unwittingly developing mental mechanisms and norms to handle the stresses and conflicts television brought to bear upon the prevailing culture of the time, to be passed on and refined with each generation to come, but being the first, it was always going to be a case of, too little; too late, to save the Boomers.
Younger folks generally have a better grasp of reality versus fiction in that regard (although internet is an entirely different story, pun intended. Perhaps they will fill the shoes of their grandparents and develop an immune response to the web? But, nevertheless, they will still be Boomer-like in that they grew up with an emergent threat.)

I suppose it could be compared to Jung's collective unconscious, where humanity shares a set of primal archetypal concepts that has been continually developed and retained since our inception, passed on through genetic memory or what-have-you.
The Devil's Black Box could be a new addition, built upon the idea that there exists a box, not unlike Pandora's, in which lurks great evil, and to not trust anything that comes out of it without first examining it thoroughly, and even then to suspend belief (or to not open it in the first place.)
And like Pandora, humanity could not understand the danger unless and until it experienced it.

Not quite .. Paul Laffoley a New York artist and former protege of Andy Warhol who worked for architectural firm Emory Roth during the WTC design phase, says explosives were built into the towers and Bldg 7 during construction, and says they were detonated on the day to bring them down.

The infrared satellite shot shows the absolute destruction that occurred at the WTC on 911, note all but the North Wing of WTC 4 has disappeared completely, the two planes that struck the towers did not possess enough kinetic energy to cause this level of destruction.

Nanothermite residues from demolition charges built in during construction have been identified in the dust from the fallout, the thermate charges were used to sever the steel beams that formed the skeleton of the towers, and were in no way responsible for the tremendous damage to WTC's 3, 4, 5, & 6.

The WTC 7 debate revolves around an individual named John Feal whose bio says he is a "Demolition Supervisor," so what the Hell was he doing at WTC Ground Zero in New York September 11, 2001 in the first place, his explanation he was there to "help out," is unconvincing in the light of other evidence.

Barry Jennings and Michael Hess were ordered to proceed to the Emergency Management Room on the 23rd floor of WTC 7, after everyone had evacuated after being warned by then New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani that the Towers were going to come down, as well Giuliani is the only one with sufficient authority to have given such an order.

Both men were trapped on the 8th floor after explosions took out the stairwell as they attempted to exit the building .. the explosions they witnessed were the detonators that were to have set off the main charges, that had been built in during construction according to the Laffoley testimony.

Conjecture all three demolitions were to occur simultaneously at 10:00 am, however Murphy's Law saw to it that while the South Tower turned to dust on time, the North Tower and Bldg 7 were still on their feet, it took Feal nearly an hour working frantically in the toxic dust, until he set off the charges were to have brought both remaining structures down.

Down came the North Tower however the main charges in WTC 7 had still not gone off, meant Feal had to bound across and work furiously by helmet lamp for seven hours, going from floor to floor resetting the timers and fuses..

Eventually razing the structure at around 5:00 pm on the afternoon of the same day .. thus as well as conventional explosives that had been built in during construction, thermonuclear demolition charges were positioned in both Towers.

Those same micro nukes embedded in the collapse material, still had enough potency to wipe out the top nineteen floors of WTC 3 the Marriot Hotel, all but the North Wing of WTC 4, and to leave the gaping holes in WTC's 5 & 6 when it came into contact with them! Nukes at the WTC on 911.
