I had an amstaff for 21 years. During that time he dealt with: a baby grabbing his ears, balls, and tail; a retarded cat that insisted on clawing at his face, numerous kids fucking with him, drunk ass sailors riling him up to show off their balls, and who knows what the fuck else.
In all that time, I only saw him really get pissed off one time, and it was when some nigger busted in through the screen door. Now granted, he tore his ass the fuck up, and I am positive he had intent to kill. But even after that he was never any more aggressive than any other dog I had.
Brutus was a god damned saint. And I trusted him with my family way more than I would a husky (bit their kid's face so bad he needed reconstructive surgery), a chow (put down after attacking some random kid in the street), or a dalmatian (so jumpy you couldn't hardly get near the thing, and of course, eventually bit some kid). The only time he stabbed me in the back was when he couldn't go on anymore, and I had to put a bullet in his skull. I'd buy a hundred of him if I could.
Weird how I never see memes about any of these known problematic breeds. Or Cane Corsos. Or St. Bernards. Or Akitas. Or Great Danes. Or any of the other numerous breeds that cause fatalities. It's almost as if any dog with a sufficient amount of strength can be dangerous.
Amstaffs, by the way, while being pitbulls, are nowhere near as statistically dangerous as huskies or any of the breeds mentioned so far. Which one do you think an apartment complex will let you own though?
