- in the 4th grade I went into the school library, checked out a book on the Ku Klux Klan and did a book report on it.

I can't imagine that that book still exists in any school library and I can't imagine the reaction it would get if some kid did the same thing now.

you can always buy the book and put it ONTO the bookshelfs without donating it.

Florida would probably categorize it as littering, the same way they did with flyers, but as far as I know, unauthorized book donations are not illegal.

I'm not proud of knowing this but Library Helper is a thing and it gets you out of civics/history/math and with this knowledge I'd like to remind you of the Dewey Decimal System. While it might get it into the area no one would likely find it.

That and, nowadays it'd likely be a Hate Crime and shut the school down sending all the children to counseling for years to counter the micro aggression of seeing such a thing.
